Need help on new build $1200-$1600

Thread Starter
I've been out out of the computer field for awhile and am looking to build a new rig. I will end up watercooling it, and OC'ing the hell out of it. Mainly it will be used for gaming. If anyone could help me out on some parts and AMD v. Intel would be great!

Thanks,
Nicholas

you'd be better off waiting for Bulldozer, which should come out sometime in the next few months. I don't know if you know, it's already been confirmed that there will be "FX" processors again. If not the best choice, is obviously sandy bridge, either a 2500 or 2600k depending on whether you need hyper threading or not.

Does your budget include the watercooling stuff and peripherals?

If it's gonna' be just for gaming, a 2500K will do. If you need simulated eight-cores, then go for the 2600K. Otherwise, probably a 560 or 570, or if you're going ATI, 6950 or 6970.

for 1600 build yourself a sandy bridge rig. My rig is around that price range... maybe slightly more expensive. (not taking into account my water blocks and water cooling stuff). A 560 or 570 should be good.

psu + cpu combo http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.612843

the rest is your option, but this costs 915 total.
I was kind of going with a color scheme for the psu and mobo
