Advice on overclocking 4850 HD

Thread Starter
I've had this XFX 4850 for about 2 weeks or so and I had it running at 700mhz core and 993 stock memory. Today my games have been crashing if I don't have it at stock settings which is 625/993. I tried a clean reinstall of my graphics drivers and afterburner...but nothing.

Am I stuck at stock settings or is there anything I can do? When I test my card with OCCT at 700mhz/993mhz I have 0 errors and it doesn't crash...but after about 15mins of gaming I get the driver crash

Try lowering your OC ever so slightly to see if it helps. Are you able to add any additional voltage?

Yea I tried going from 700 to 650, 640, 630 and still crashes. Before if I touched the memory clock even 5mhz it would crash..now it seems to be doing the same with the core clock.

As for the voltage I can't seem to unlock it with afterburner
