Upgrading soon, Need Help! - Page 2

2 quick questions:
1. Where do you live // order from?
2. You gaming or just looking for a quiet HTPC option?

For gaming, I would personally spring for a 9800GT//GTS250 from NV or a 4770//4850 from ATi/AMD instead of the 5670. It has a healthy performance gap over the 5670. The DX11 support is great, it's just a shame that the 5670 can't actually keep up once the extra candy is turned on. Here are some benchies

No it wont. Plus theres a 4x bellow that you can use aswell if you only use 1 VGA 2 slot card.

5770 is a good choice, but I was trying to make suggestions closer in price to your original picks. If you have the extra cash lying around to pick a 5770 up, definitely go for it, it will out perform all the models I listed.

The M4A87TD EVO or GA-870A-UD3 should cost the same as the M4A87TD-USB3 and offer a better power phase/VRM system more suitable for 125W processors
post #16 of 17
The 87TD EVO, is a better value than the USB3. It has a more robust 8+2 phase VRM design, and a usable second PCIe slot.

EDIT: damn, ninja'd

Bit of a warning with the Radeon 5670 1GB, I've had mine for about 4 months and I'm sending it back for issues of it artifacting when using the DVI-I port. Though when you run it through the HDMI port it works amazingly. I can run things like Bioshock and WoW on max settings plus things like FarCry 2 and Left4Dead 2 run at pretty amazing speeds with great visuals. I say grab a 5770 because that little bit of extra power wouldn't hurt
