In need of a gaming laptop! (Kind of a repost)

Thread Starter
A few months ago I posted this:

"Hey OCN community,

I need a gaming computer... mainly to play CIV5, SC2, Europa Universali, and HOI 3

I want to buy the alienware m15 but my friend said alienware is garbage... I don't know if this is true. If so, what should I get?

My budget is around $1000 - $1500 CAD

Please help

Thanks!"

Well now I finally got the money to pay the laptop! I was told a few options such as g73 or msi gx660 but that was a few months ago... Any new suggestions would be amazing!

Thanks!

alienware laptops are not garbage. They are just very expensive when speced up which is why people don't always recommend them. They can also have overheating problems. I would recommend looking into Asus's gaming line. They have great performance and are less expensive than alienware laptops. The g73 is great!

Look into an ASUS g73 or G53 they are pretty much the same thing as the alienware, just cheaper and not as flashy. It isn't that alienware's are junk they are just way over priced.

Thanks for comments all! I am a dumb with computers spec and stuff so If you had $1500ish to spend on a gaming laptop which one would you choose?

ASUS G53 is close to what I have, mine came with a BD-Rom and a 500Gb HDD, and is what i would suggest unless you can find a new G73 around that price here in the states COMPUSA has a G73SW for 1499.00 found HERE

Well, you can never go wrong with alienware when it comes to gaming, I recommend Asus, specifically the G53 and G73. Portability, G53. Bigger screen, larger keyboard, rubberized texture go with the G73. However, the G53 is basically a shrinked G73 but $200 less with the same specs.

sager 8150/70, best you can get for the money, quad core w/ a 485m.

g53 or any sager should be fine tbh

I hope you realize that the 485 is like a $500 upgrade from the 460, putting it way outside of his price range on the cheapest build he can get in america, let alone in canada which sell clevo/sager laptops for even more money.
