The Klipsch Image S4 are the best in-ear headphones you can get for under $100 They're better in terms of sound reproduction than even some $500 headphones. I seriously recommend them.

Cheapest place to buy them is at

for $79.

budget?
music tastes?

How do you treat them tbh? Like with anything, if you abuse them, they will last a shorter time...

Hey there. MEElectronics line of IEMs are quite good, and budget-friendly. Personally, I believe their M6 is the best of the bunch, and won't hurt your wallet either. Plus, it's a very cool style of headphones, and the fit is fantastic.

Here's a link. Hope this helps!

I know you may not consider sennheiser, but CX II 300 in your price range $25.

CX II 300

I bought them last year in July and so far they're going strong. Although I must say that I don't use them daily. They sound great with my ipod 2g.

EDIT: Maybe your CX500s weren't authentic? Perhaps a replica?

Ask for advice. Don't take the advice.
The metro.fi's aren't bad but more you could of got much better for the cash, not to mention that music tastes have an impact of your enjoyment of the earphones.
