(I too have 64bit Windows, and in my fix, NEVER use QWORD (64bit QWORD) this will cause the fix not to work!)

I said in my fix to use DWORD , this is the EXACT SAME as choosing DWORD (32-bit) Value (this shows on the Registry as Reg_DWORD.)


Edit: I do understand your question, however, choosing DWORD is the only correct way.

Open Device Manager, open Storage controllers, then just right click "Marvell 91xx...", choose properties, then go to the policies tab, and uncheck the box "Enable safely remove disk."

Thank you, this worked beautifully -- even after trying the original registry fixes it wasn't working on my Asrock Z77 Extreme (probably because I have 8 SATA ports?).

But the controller was listed in device manager and it was as simple as unchecking the box and rebooting. Cheers!!! smile.gif

This isn't working for me. After doing the fix and rebooting, both my internal HDD's still show in safely remove hardware.

Only hot plug thing I can find in my BIOS is under Integrated Peripherals as 'OnChip SATA Port as ESP' with the description 'To configure Onchip SATA port as eSATA port and report AHCI hot plug icon in OS'., And all ports 0,1,2,3,4,5, are disabled.

Why dont i have this storage controllers on my device manager? I need to enable safe removal for my e-sata port.

I have this problem but in windows 8 with Marvel chip only, and I can not find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ services\ msahci

Even after creating it, no work.
