That's just why the entire stock of the Limited Edition 590 was sold out within 8 hours, eh?

But it's the same thing though.

OC your 590, it blows up on you, you're still eligible for warranty.
OC your 6990, warranty BLOWS UP ON YOU. Unless, you're on XFX. But, who buys XFX these days?

Of course... the 6990 sold out too -- the people who want the card are going to buy it anyway... it is the people that are going to carefully consider their options that may turn away.

Anyway, there are people in this thread who will defend Nvidia to the grave. Personally, I have only ever bought Nvidia, but I am not basis enough to defend the release of a card to a community that WILL OC only to have them blow up in reviews.

Carry on.

The difference is, there will be no more 590's...This was it, done, end, game over.

Limited production run.

So I fail to see how AMD outsold them when there was only X to sell...Of course they did.

And 6990's might have sold out initially but, they're out there now...Plentifully...There will NOT be any more 590's.

So there you have it folks, Nvidia themselves saying the GTX 590 is a ticking time bomb when it comes to overclocking and even water cooling won't help.

Buy it while you can so when it blows up they will send you a 580 for replacement.

that is unfair and untrue.

You wont get the card killed if u use the official driver, our community is of users/consumers, we're not the testers/reviewers who got the card before release date and stuck with the driver on CD that kills the card, and they didnt blame nvidia either, because they got it for free and to test it, if they find a problem with it, that helps the company to fix it. I dont defend nvidia to grave, but I dont have to bash them to grave either because the problem isn't related to me. We can only buy this card on and after the release date, thank those testers for warning us about the driver on CD because that's their job, but we got an official and newer driver, and we would use it instead of the one on CD regardless of this.

Its availably might be lower than 6990, but these cards only sell too little even for both companies to profit from.
Also how come evga is selling 4 types of card, two of which contain 2x gtx590! that indicates enough availability. Now we wait for future non-reference 6990 and 590 just for fun .

If you had taken the time and bothered to look, the pre-packaged "doubles" & HC are all that's left...The rest are sold out.

Meaning, for better or worse, the entire stock of single 590's is sold out. Period.

Secondary stock will sell out within the next few days.

So, there is NOT future availability...That's why on their front page it says: L I M I T E D.

Limited means there won't be more. ~ I really don't understand how this is so complicated?

I'm seriously starting to feel like there's a whole generation of spoiled overclockers. People that feel that the manufacturer is responsible for replacing their product no matter what extremes the purchaser subject's it to.

What puzzles me is: I don't know why your voltage/tempature safety features would be rely on software control. I would think it would be possible to implement them completely in hardware.
