The 5xx ones are 85c max safe. You can push them a bit higher, but they will start throttling down. If I remember right, they shut down at 90c-95c.
Where are you getting this information from?

The thermal threshold for the GF110 parts is 97 degrees centigrade.

The card will throttle at or slightly above 97 degrees, they will NOT shut down (unless you have seriously unstable overclocks). There is very little damage that can be done to the card even at those temps. Nvidia isn't in the game of allowing their cards to get hot and having to deal with a ton of warranty claims.

I increased my voltage to 1.038 and now I im not seeing any errors in errorcheck tested 300 seconds.

I tested GPU 860/1720 SHADER @ 1.038 v 15 min OCCT. max temp 85-86 fan 62-64%

WIll be updating this thread continously. If I run into problems I will ask.

My goal is to get 900/1800/4400/4500 stable 24/7 Default is 786/1572/4200

http://www.overclock.net/attachments...570mod3-2-.rar

Btw the 1.2V/100% fan speed unlocked BIOS does it work with my videocard?:

MSI GeForce GTX 570 OC 1280 MB N570GTX-M2D12D5/OC

Aren't bioses unique to each card?

For some strange reason default stock mhz and voltage get more fps in OCCT than with 900 core 1800 shader...
Though I tested in crysis warhead benchmark tool and I got an 4 fps average fps increase with this overclock over default.

If I look at my benchmark result screenshot I see:

18-26 fps @ 900/1800 core/shader overclock
25-34 fps @ default clock no error check OCCT

Don't you think this is strange? The default fps also seems to be more constant at the same speed while the overclocked screenshots seems to be a lot more irrattic from low to high constantly/

Well run a Benchmark instead, you'll see results easier than OCCT.

According to NVIDIA, the max safe temperature for your card is 97C. Choose the 'Specifications' tab and scroll down to the bottom for verification.

That said, it looks like your card is thermally throttling. Crank up the fan to 75% or so manually, improve case ventilation if you can, and see if performance improves.

Throtteling what does this mean? Anyway i got less fps in OCCT but more fps in crysis when compared to stock voltage/mhz which seems weird.

Anyway I set up a custom fan profile to hit 65% fan @ 70 degrees, and then go 85% fan when it reaches 75 degrees. That way it always stays relativly cool.

Throttling means that when your card meets a certain temperature or load, the card reduces its performance as a form of self-preservation. There was some controversy over this when Fermi was first released, and I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding articles that describe it in more detail. Just search 'Fermi throttle/throttling' and you'll get what you need to know.

I see, that suck! how to get rid of it? my car doesn't get hotter then 74 degrees 74 % fanspeed.

When you compare this picture and look how the fps goes
http://i55.tinypic.com/2cwx21j.png (default clocks and voltage 786/1572@0.987)

and then compare to this one?
http://i52.tinypic.com/20gjehl.png (870/1740 core shader @1.038)

Do you think is is an effect of throttling?

Based on those graphs, it certainly looks like something is happening and that's what I mean in my previous post. Note how on the stock settings, the card initially spikes to very high fps, then drops down to a constant rate? That sounds just like what happened in the Fermi throttling articles that I have read: the card knows that it's being benched, so it goes into self-preservation mode. However, when you manually enter the voltage and overclock it, that doesn't happen.

As long as the temps stay reasonable and the card is stable, go with your overclocked settings.
