SLI Crashing - Page 2

Crash in what way? Drivers fail? Reboots? Locks up? BSOD?

I found that reinstalling the drivers helps with instability issues. If I unplug my monitors from my cards and reset the computer (without shutting it down), the drivers will no longer recognize my cards for some reason and I need to reinstall the drivers to get it to work again.

@s3v3n: yes the very first thing I tried was disabling all my OCs. Like I said, this is even happening on a brand new reformat with the latest drivers. And both cards seem to work fine when only one of them is being used (I'd select one as main in software, not physically disconnect anything).
Id try an older driver version then. If that does not work, im stumped.

It's a complete freeze. Blank screen for 30 seconds, and then no signal to the monitors and they go into sleep mode.

And let me try that trick.

Know where to get them? I'm not seeing links to them on nvidia's site.

Could the SLI bridge be damaged?
if you're using MSI AfterBurner or any voltage control/monitoring program make sure the voltage control is DISABLED/unchecked because i had this and tried everything then found out about it late... the symptoms that you have is very similar to the ones i had.

the 266.58 is best driver for 400 sli from my experience.
Can you get to the nvidia control pannel? if so does it reconise the sli setup?

Sli bridge not upside down?

Go to device manager and see if any devices are missing drivers. maybe the southbridge NF200 chipset drivers.

Also have a look for any newer bios updates.

So, you can get boot into Desktop without any problem with SLI enabled? The PC crashes only when you try to run a graphical application?

Have you tried disabling SLI and then stressing the 2 cards simultaneously?

(Old drivers are under Beta and Archived Drivers )

One day SLI worked, the next time I went to play a game a few days later it didn't. I didn't open up the PC at any point in between. I did check to make sure the cards and bridge were seated properly to see if maybe that was the problem, but nope.

Nope, never changed the voltage.

Yes the nvidia panel recognizes the setup, and I can switch between SLI and single card just fine.

The SLI bridge is right side up, and I did make sure it was seated properly.

My motherboard doesn't have the NF200 chip.

Going to do the BIOS right now.

Correct. Only when running a 3D app, and only when SLI is enabled.

I TRIED to stress them simultaneously, but can't seem to figure out how to do it. No matter what screen I move a 3D window to it always uses the primary card for rendering.
