The holographic effect is created by taking advantage of the directionality of light dispersed by fog. Each of the three projectors presents an image of the rabbit taken from a different angle—if you stand at one angle, you are presented with the front image reflected through the fog, as you move to the side you'll be presented with the corresponding side of the bunny, etc. The end effect: an adorable Easter hologram.
I actually welcome hologram tech.
As long as when you touch it... it has a nice tactile feel

Didn't they have a documentary on this sort of thing like... 3 to 4 years ago?

I think they had a documentary on the concept but not the actual tech.

Probably.

When I was working at SGI, we did something very similar to this at a SIGGRAPH show and then again at a party a couple of months later (at the facility that is now occupied by Google) and this was 10 years ago...

Not sure what is "new" about this...

EDIT: BTW: Our "display" was 10 feet tall and 6 feet wide and was not just a static picture.

I've seen a laser display projector that was far more sophisticated than this.

This is using multiple projectors (expensive as hell) to achieve something which isn't really all that wow to me...

A hologram can't really be tactile, the stuff u see in mass effect and such isn't tactile either, holographs are light/laser projections, can't 'feel' light therefore it can't be 'tactile'
