After I have my Raid0 setup, can I disconnect the wires?

Thanks to your help I was able to setup Raid0 about a week or so ago and it's been running beautifully. The speeds gained are amazing and I can't see myself going back to a single hd setup anymore.

Today I want to install my watercooling setup and do some mods on my case. That will entail taking my motherboard out of the case and off course disconnecting the harddrive sata wires from the motherboard. Last time I did this, upon replugging the sata wires in, I got a "missing operating system" error and ended up reformatting my harddrive because I couldn't get into windows.

Is there a rule that I don't know about when disconnecting sata wires while having a Raid0 array? Do I need to plug them back in exactly in the same ports they were in before disconnecting or am I required to go back into the bios and re-enable/reconfigure Raid0? Please clarify this for me before I disconnect anything. I'm pretty scared from last time considering I lost some files I wish I didn't lose.

Thanks

Number your cables so that you plug the same drives into the same sata ports as before and you should be fine.

Really? So there is a requirement to maintain the same order used during Raid as after Raid?

It depends on the RAID controller.
