I would have expected lower.

What voltage are you running and what are your ambient temps/airflow like?

Assuming a 20oC ambient around a 1.3-1.35vcore I would expect temps maybe 70 peak ~ mine peak around 60-65 but I have a custom loop.

Is the loop bled of air? Those temps look 5-10C north of where I'd expect them IMHO.

Did you use gloves on your finger? If not then you risk contaminating the paste. For the i7 the vertical line method is good http://www.arcticsilver.com/pdf/appm..._line_v1.1.pdf.

Are you sure the block is clamped down hard enough?

That voltage is high for 24/7 usage and if you stress it a lot, say 24/7 folding.

I would say you need to play with other voltages or you need to just lower your clocks and lower that voltage... but it is your CPU and you can determine how long it will last.

I used MX-4 and YOU NEVER use your finger, the oils on your skin is not good for anything

I just use my credit card and put a thin layer on... always works perfect to me, there are tons of ways to put it on, just never with your finger
