Thanks all for the help much love all round,

I'm definitely going for the TitaniumHD and was think of the Sennheiser PC 360 with it. I know your recommendations are for headphones but i really want the attached mic just for convenience, Is there anything you can recommend over the Sennheiser 360?

Even though it has better components, I still prefer my Xonar D1's sound signature.

For the price it should be.
The Titanium HD usually sells for $150
The Asus Xonar DX usually sells for $80

I plugged in my DX about 2 hours ago. I'm not sure it's $100 (Toronto price) worth of upgrade from the onboard. I can still do the $20 rebate and it'd have saved me another $20 if I hadn't bought the Y-RCA cable (DX includes one) already so those things could've made it a $60 net expense which seems much better, I suppose.

The speakers sound really great, for sure, but they already sounded pretty good to me without the card. The software with the EQ is cool to have and the inside of my case looks a little cooler with another card installed.

The zalman mike that they referenced earlier is pretty decent. I still strongly suggest you go towards the AD700 and zalman combo. The Zalman mike actually isnt a desktop mic - it clips onto the cable to your cans, or you can put it on your shirt. While I will say it's a small added hassle, the quality of cans you'll get without the attached mike outweighs the potential hassle of the Zalman. I actually had that issue at first too, but I'm so glad I got my beyers and the zalman instead of a headset with mic attached.

I was going to tell you that the STX is considered the top soundcard under $200 and that you shouldn't cancel.

So titanium hd with ad700 using this mod and I guess I can get some cable sleeveing to tidy it up, guess I should start looking for a solution for getting the jack though. So any other suggestions or am I all set?

And thanks for the help
