Ooo, now I'm curious about what would happen if you were to use the modified Quadro driver. The modified Quadro driver provides superior performance for many Fermi owners! So, I recommend giving it a try just to see what happens. Here's the best way to install it:
  1. Install Driver Sweeper
  2. Download this Quadro driver
  3. Download this inf file ("nv_disp.inf")
  4. Delete C:\\NVIDIA. It's a temporary folder that must be deleted to avoid Windows automatically installing the driver in this folder after rebooting when you uninstall the driver you're using now
  5. Open the Programs and Features control panel, and uninstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver
  6. Uninstall everything else related to the graphics card, but leave PhysX installed
  7. Reboot into Safe Mode
  8. Once you are in Safe Mode, open Driver Sweeper
  9. Select "NVIDIA - Display" (don't select anything else)
  10. Click "Clean"
  11. Reboot when it asks you if you want to reboot
  12. Run the Quadro driver installer, and allow it to create the folder "C:\\NVIDIA\\DisplayDriver\\267.05\\Vista 64-bit\\English"
  13. Click the green "CLOSE" button when it tells you "Install cannot continue" (if you don't close it, then you won't be able to do anything until you do)
  14. Copy the file "nv_disp.inf" that you downloaded to this folder, replacing the one that's in there now: "C:\\NVIDIA\\DisplayDriver\\267.05\\Vista 64-bit\\English\\Display.Driver"
  15. Run the setup file that is located here: "C:\\NVIDIA\\DisplayDriver\\267.05\\Vista 64-bit\\English" (this is the icon you're looking for)
  16. Click the green "AGREE AND CONTINUE" button
  17. Choose "Custom (Advanced)"
  18. Click the green 'NEXT" button
  19. If you don't use audio through HDMI, the deselect "HD Audio Driver"
  20. If you don't use the fancy new 3D technology (which I think requires a special monitor or something), then deselect "3D Vision Driver"
  21. Enable "Perform clean install"
  22. Click the green "NEXT" button
  23. When it finishes, reboot
  24. After rebooting, check the Programs and Features control panel to see if PhysX is still installed. If for some reason it isn't, then here is its setup file: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Window...emSoftware.exe

It may look like a ton of work, but it really isn't.

I'm honestly a tiny bit surprised the Quadro driver didn't work out to be better than the beta driver. Perhaps I need to make the very latest Quadro driver work just to see how that goes.

Anyway, a good overclock setting is whatever you can get out of your card. So, experiment, experiment, and experiment.

I modified the nv_disp.inf that comes with the latest Quadro driver (version 267.79)!

So now you can try NVIDIA's latest official Quadro driver version 267.79 by performing the instructions I posted above again, except this time you need to use these:

http://us.download.nvidia.com/Window...ional-whql.exe (64-bit)
