the merger will start the throttling of services and the tiered pricing everyone dreads.

watch, 12-18 months and the Att/Tm monopoly will start modifying plans. Att bundles home/mobile so they have a huge customer base to exploit.

Sprint has the only real unlimited plan but is held back by lack of desirable phones. You see the Evo commercials on TV?. Verizon gets the new HTC 4g and the commercial is hip/cool/ makes me wanna have it. The sprint commercial is 'look at all our awards, positive reviews... shows the mindset doesn't it.

( I have the Evo with sprint...)

Haha that's the exact same in my area. I have Verizon because of the better phones/service, but wish we had better competition for pricing...

The merger is bad. Less competition is never good for the consumer.

Tmobile's prices are great and their customer service ALWAYS ranks highest among the major 4 carriers in the US. ALWAYS. It really is amazing.

If you are a tmobile customer and call support from your tmo handset, you are talking with a live, real person from the US almost immediately. I had to wait longer than 1 minute only one time in 7 years of service. Just unbelievable.

And their loyalty department (yes that actually have that cause they care about customers) is amazing. As a long time customer who was not in contract and heavily eying the EVO at release, I called TMO support and told them I might be thinking about leaving. If I signed a new contract with them, my plan would stay the same but they cut my unlimited messaging for my family plan down to $10, and reduced my family voice plan by $20 a month, and offered a free high end android phone. So long customer service, hello AT&T evil.

I REALLY HOPE that they block the transaction. Competition is the fuel for good service, good prices and choice.
