The more you run an overclock that is somewhat unstable, the more you stand the chance of running into corruption or crashes. That doesn't mean you shouldn't or can't do it. Prime 95 is just a tool that is used to make sure a processor is absolutely stable under the worst of conditions.
I'd personally like to be more stable than crashing instantly in Prime. You will probably run into a similar situation in a game at some point.

I ran my curent overclock on prime for almost two days, then gave it a break then 10+ hours again. The reason is im pretty darn sure if it passes such a torture test that its good to go.
I had previous a overclock run good under normal load for a day and a half, then crash three minute into prime every time. My point is my current overclock is running very very well, no freezing no blue screens,and handles heavy gaming!
If it doesnt pass prime, i believe you will have a lot of stability issues.
