Yes. The game is complete. Now they are working on their patch to enable DX11, higher resolution textures and custom graphics options. The reason these things are not available at launch is because they take more time to create and optimize. Given consoles lack of customizable hardware, game development is quicker and easier. Had they waited for the PC version to be complete, they would have had to delay the game longer. Had they released the console version without the PC version there would be so much more QQing than there already is.

Jesus. *******. Christ.

CryEngine3 is a build once, run on anything engine. Meaning you build the game once, it runs on PC, 360, PS3.

"This game didn't make my brain/eyes gasm all over my 240hz screen which any idiot can clearly see is better than a 120hz screen" Yeah. That's real cute. Crysis 2 didn't cause your GPU to fuse with your motherboard? Boohoo. It's still the most beautiful game thats available. Period. Oh. What's that? you want to cut down some trees and worship some godrays? I hear minecraft will redefine your world view, godrays not even necessary! The graphics are that good!

You want to know the real problem with PC gamers? It's not elitist "I spent 2293203232 dollars on my rig so i expect better performance" It's not "We're the original gaming platform" It's not "you're a sellout if you go console", It's "Wait, I can make a game, with arguably (but not definitively, my predeccessor set that benchmark) the best graphics in the industry, superior gameplay, excellent game mechanics, badass story, and tons of replay value, and have it appreciate by pansyass 12 year old xbox gamers where the 30 something elitist PC Gamers only see non-aliased sub pixels!" Yeah, It's a real conundrum why people with talent don't give two you know whats what you people think.

I've said it before, and I'll say it a 3rd time

I'm sorry, but please stop whining about it. It doesn't look that bad, especially for DX9 I know when I get my rig, I'm buying C2 along with C1 Maximum Edition. If you don't like Crysis 2, don't buy it. Simple. That's how a market economy works. If enough people say "screw this" and leave it on the store shelves, the company will notice horrible sales and do something about it. But in the meantime, we don't need 30 threads saying how much of a piece of crap it is

Edit: Oh, and I'll add to the above:

You are not entitled to get the exact sequel you want. The devs will make the game they want to make. The public's opinion is only a guideline. If you want another rig killer, start up a mod squad or work for a developer to make your "OMG CAN'T MAX IT OUT FOR 5+ YEARS" game.

Only reason I'm stalking these threads is that they appear in Latest Discussions on the home page.

meh, would've preferred a delay so that both versions get proper treatment on the same launch day, and a whole less hatred than we see now.

Pretty much this. I'd rather the devs delay it and make it so that its optimized for all platforms, rather than optimizing it for platform X and alienating platform Y. And then telling platform Y "oh don't worry, we're working on it. Be patient with us."

There's a joint word for it, its called a cop-out.

For example: Duke Nukem Forever. People have been waiting 14 years on that, and your logic is running on the rail that waiting four years is too long. Seems like the mirror's waiting for your self-reflection.

on the other hand... EA did this, they were not willing to delay it, and Crytek did try to bargain but to no avail to delay the release date.

Is all the hatred unjustified on Crytek, and rather should be on EA?

You don't bargain with a publisher when you know your game may end up being buggy and in turn, may end up alienating a consistent chunk of a particular platform market. Yes, economics do play a role in this. But, arguably, Crytek didn't try hard enough.

Also, ChronoBodi, you're missing a closing center tag for your bottom part of your sig.
