Windows 7 Digital Audio Outputs Issue

Thread Starter
I have tried using Google to find a solution to this. I only found enough to know its a problem for other folks... On my new build, my primary sound out is the Toslink digital audio from my mobo I/O to my home theater receiver. I also have an HDMI out from my video card to the receiver for when I want to watch someone on the TV. Since Windows will only enable one digital audio output device at a time, using the HDMI means going into the Control Panel to switch them. I can't combine the two inputs on the reciever - tried that. So is there any way to enable two audio outputs at the same time in Windows?

There IS a way but i dont know the specifics... if the program allows it you can set specific devices for the program...Windows media player/center(unsure of Center) you can go to the device settings and set it to a specific device(i have it set for my Headphones)and everything else will go to your default. i think there are programs that can let you choose what plays on what device(not sure of this but have heard of some rumors)
But Good Luck in your endevors
