Buying New TV soon

Thread Starter
I plan on buying a new TV soon for movies, PC and Xbox gaming. I'm not too sure what to get, I was thinking of maybe a 40' 3D 240hz Sony Bravia, but I'm not too sure. I heard bad things about LED for gaming such as lag. Should I go with 3D or just buy a regular LCD Sony Bravia, or any other suggestions will be appreciated as well.

Just get a regular sony bravia. IMO 3d tv is not worth it at the moment. They are really expensive and require you to wear those stupid glasses. Wait for prices to come down and glasses-free to come out before taking the 3d plunge. Regular bravias are really good so you should be happy with the quality. you could always look at high end samsung tvs as well, they have some nice new models out now.

If your going to game get a plasma!!! I cannot stress this enough. These new plasma's are still prone to burn in but very rarely does it happen (I played red dead redemption for 5 hours right after i got my new plasma.) Plasma also gives true blacks and has no pixels.

Edit: check this out http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16889187205 or this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16889005225 you get better picture and bigger screen size for less than the 40". win!!

Edit again: Also plasma has .0001 ms response time and 600hz

Hz means nothing over 60Hz (very much marketing talk). I'd actually get a Samsung C650 if you want to game but can't afford Plasma.

Thanks but the Sony Bravia 40" 3D is the same price as the LED. I'm too scared about plasma, I heard bad things. My main question still stands, LED or LCD.

picture quality wise, it more depends on the model of the TV than the backlight of LED or CCFL ('regular' LCD).
