So is Crysis 2 worth it?

Thread Starter
I'm itching to buy it but I've only really made it about halfway through the first. I heard it got good reviews but I don't really trust review sites at all anymore. So two questions.

1. Is the game good as in fun and worth my money?
2. Will my rig be able to max it?

SP is amazing. I just finished it today. Good 12 hours of playing time on sp. Yes you can max the game easy.
I have not finished it yet but it is without doubt the best FPS game i have ever played!

GamePlay:
While it may not be a snadbox, it surely is NOT a linear shooter. basically this is what they do. the make a map (pretty big) and they put alot of enemies in it and ask you to clear them out. You can do this rambo style or solid snake style. Its all up to you (of course certain scenarios ask you to go full force action, but for the most part you play how you want)

Maps:
Vertical. the first crysis offered huge flat maps, these maps are slightly smaller but there is Alot of verticality in all of them. You will be fighting on roofs and office buildings quite alot but there are more interesting locations i won't spoil.

Graphics
And it looks absolutely AMAZING! all this talk about hurp derp Dx9, you know what, You won't even notice it the game is just stellar. The best looking game i've ever played. the lighting and the shear amount of stuff happening in every scene (buildings falling, tons of MPC's firing their weapons, helicopters in the air and the Ceph ships. there is just way more stuff going on in this game. I won't lie, the textures did take a backseat, but unless your looking at newspapers and leaves in the game (why would you do that when you have blood thirsty aliens on your A$$) you won't notice/care because while they are not excellent they are far from Bad.

i have yet to play the multiplayer, The single player has taken up most of my day today and i'm still not finished lol (could have beat homefront twice in the time its taken me soo far)

Do i recommend it? Hell yeah! don't let the people brainwash you into thinking this game looks bad, because they clearly have not played it.

I have to agree the game is worth it. I am just about done with the SP and am loving it. Your rig should max it, so my vote is yes go get it.

This sums up my feelings quite well. It's a great game and I recommend buying it.

And yes your rig will max this no problem.

How was the overall gameplay experience for you?

By the way, I love your rep count.
Yes. 10 hrs+ of gameplay (depends on your playstyle actually, Gung Ho or Ninja style). It has new game+. Its a good compromise between sandbox and linear gameplay. You get a certain degree of freedom and epic cutscenes at the same time. Best single player shooter since HL2 IMO.

Yes as well for your second question. With your current rig, i doubt you will dip below 60 fps on max settings. (i think). Dont forget to check for the SLI fix. Some peeps report flickering problems on multi gpu systems.

Go!

EDIT: I notice youre on nvidia surround. Silly me. Nonetheless, you rig should be able to handle it.
