Having some lag issues in black ops.. I want to totally rule out the operating system so I thought I would go with a fresh install. I have xmarks backing up firefox and I backuped up all my documents pictures downloads. backing up my steam games now...

any more suggestions before I reinstall?

Dude I seriously doubt your os is causing lag in blackops and if it is, you can change it with setting fixes. You don't need to reinstall windows if it is otherwise working fine. If you think the os is causing lag, then try changing the theme from windows aero to windows classic. This will decrease the performance draws of the os while gaming.

It shouldn't be a performance issue at all. I really have no idea why I'm getting some lag and it seems like its every few seconds. I have no idea what it is so.. I'm at a loss really.

finished reinstall. Fixed issue....
