They have, K8 vs. P4 anyone?, and there's nothing to say they can't do it again. On topic, these cards for all intents and purposes are equal. AMD is just hyping this current gen battle, which is good marketing.

YES! Eat turd an live NVidia.

I don't necessarily have a problem with their gear. I have a problem with them backdooring the competition with the Developers for years and nobody calling them on it. I get so tired of opening ANY CPU Rag and seeing them give NVidia a free pass for their underhanded sneaky sneaky ways and seeing all the Benchies essentially written with NVidia in mind. Take away the PhysX and the Hyperthreading and what do you have? A brick with pedal power. No offense but every NVidia guy knows this to be true. I've owned NVidia. I like them to a certain extent. But I can't get on board with their skewed Benches that nearly cornered an entire Market. Competition is what drives growth in ANY industry. NVidia nearly got away with it.

Gooooo team Red...Errrrr... Green!

@Kvjavs... Hey bro Newegg just released(a tad early btw) the latest Gigabyte AM3+ board. So Bulldozer is right round the corner.

That was 6 years ago though. Have they ever gone this long without besting the competition?

I wouldn't call pouring money into helping developers make their games look better 'backdooring'. AMD had every opportunity to do the same, but refused. I could see your point if they had been blocked from the opportunity (eg Intel), but they weren't.

Edit: Oh, and Dave Erskine is a douche. I would say the same thing about Nvidia if they said something like that too.

I get a good chuckle at least a dozen times a day while reading these forums. So many sig worthy quotes could be had. I'm sorry for going OT and I'm not downing you, I genuinely just like a good laugh and this done the trick. We all make mistakes.

The idiom is "For all intents and purposes" btw

How does the FPS from one game increase the FPS in another? I'd really like to know.

5 games benchmarked by HC come out favoring the 6990, 2 favor the 590, and both software benchmarks favor the 6990.
