Crysis 2 Doesn't Need DX11... - Page 13

i can't believe people are upset the game is running at playable framerates...

Honestly would you guys be happy if your GTX590s were getting 30fps and you GTX580 and 6970's were getting 20 fps even if it was the best looking game ever made? Because CryTek could have done that but instead they made a great looking game that is Playable. if you want benchmarks use 3Dmark, if you want a game play crysis 2.

and comments like "i wanted to stop playing this garbadged textured game" are just a tragedy. Totally mission the entire point of gaming. But hey, everyone has an opinion... just like this post.

Anyhow, I think performance is the least of their worries, it performs really well!

This, I dont notice anything between the 3 settings apart from a frame rate drop LOL.
I didn't mean that. I meant that I don't know if my settings have dictated that I can only choose from High, Very High, and Extreme. I mean, people keep talking about "Hardcore" but I don't have that. I've seen others talking about medium settings, but I don't have that either. Maybe "medium" is Very High now.

Whatever the case, this game is not awesome like Crysis 1 is.

This is what we are saying:

If you don't pay attention to details and if you just blast through this game, then it looks fine. By contrast, if you like to stop and appreciate the finer details of the graphics such as the textures, physics, etc., then you're screwed. I saw an flag that was within my reach, so I punched it. Instead of moving, it turned out to be a solid object that only looks like a flag. Not only that, but it was textured with a low-res image of a flag. If this were a true sequel, then that small detail would have been a flag that I can punch and it would react like real cloth.

There are hundreds of small details that it seems they don't care about anymore, and there are many bugs. Not only are there the bugs I listed, but there's another: every once in a while, I need to restart the entire game because I lose the ability to fire my weapon. Yeah, so not only do I sometimes lose my ability to melee, but I sometimes can't even fire my damn gun.

The first Crysis is nearly perfect for me and it only has some extremely minor graphical glitches that I don't care about (as well as some very minor AI problems). By contrast, Crysis 2 feels like an Alpha version or something. It's pathetic.

Yes, there are aspects about the game that are significantly better (including some of the graphics), but it's very inferior to the first Crysis.

I forgot to mention that I also hate this checkpoint system. I would prefer to still be able to save the game anytime I want in addition to the checkpoints.

I also don't like how when I reach certain checkpoints, the game stops seemingly out of nowhere and shows something like a cutscene type of thing and then puts you back in the game in some new place instead of putting you right back where you were. It kinda feels like COD4 in that respect. I remember one particular moment where, when I got back to the game, there was a wall behind me; there was absolutely no way to go backwards at all: so I sat there wondering how the hell I got there. I also wondered why I was there. I mean, why would I start at the dead end of some underground tunnel system thing?

Well the patch will fix things anyways. I'm enjoying single player with my custom config. The game still feels like PC but we need HIGHER TEXTURES like Crysis 1. Only time will tell.
don't need higher textures, need higher polycount

lol every single time I start a new level, I either lose all of my Nano Catalyst, or most of it.

I just entered the alien structure thing (level 36), and so I checked my Nano Catalyst right away: 180. I didn't use any of it. Nope. Instead, the game ate most of it. Before entering the alien structure, I collected 100 Catalyst at least 15-20 times.

While this game is growing on me, I'm getting really effing sick of the bugs.

So many ppl complaining and crying lol

This game was never intended to impress you on the pc front. On consoles this is amazing. Just because it is a crysis game it does not have to impress on pc. They made that clear and obvious years ago when they said it was going on consoles DUH! Everything they showed was on the consoles DUH As a pc gamer I am shocked at all the stupid complaining about the textures and glitches and so on...in the past year almost every big pc game has been crap at release. ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD THING A CRYSIS GAME WOULD BE BUG FREE.

My game runs great I have little to none of the bugs that i hear. I have a i7 2600k at 5.0ghz and a 6970 directcu 980/1560 stock volts (i got a golden card ) 5760x1080. The game runs smooth. 2 other friends with high quality computers are running smooth and glitch free like me. My 5850 i5 4.0ghz rig has lots of glitches and all the problems. You need a good system to run this game.

Crytek is laughing their ass off at pc. Everyone stole their first crysis and now they are saying screw you pc we are getting our due earnings through consoles. All the bad reviews are causing everyone to steal crysis 2 and I bet they will not release a dx11 version. They never said they would! they said maybe. As a dx9 version it is amazing! It is more than I expected (from a console port)

ps crysis 1 graphics look dated. crysis 2 looks alot better in alot of areas plus it is well optimised.

There must be an echo in here.

Everyone on this thread and every other Crysis 2 DX11 thread has said the same thing for both pro's and con's.

I think everyone just wants a turn at saying it.
