Crysis 2 Doesn't Need DX11... - Page 7

Crysis 2 doesn't need DX11, it needs to die in a fire. Or change the suit functions back to the original ones, along with all the controls, tell us what happened after the end of Crysis and Warhead, how Prophet became infected, why the Aliens ("ceph") turned red and gained legs, what happened to Nomad and Prophet, explain how we all got to New York, Use CryEngine 2 with quadcore support, and Crytek need to beg for forgiveness.

This game is terrible compared to the first one.

$60. Heh.
First thing, save manually - YES!

Lean - YES

Kinda want it to be hold but OPTIONS should always be there for people like you who want it to toggle.

Speaking of Toggle... REMOVE the toggle on the nano suit...
WHERE is the Maximum strength part?
The only way of actually using it is when you use a console jump (hold X.. er I mean space).

Also, TOGGLE option for hints.
I don't NEED to know that space makes it possible to jump over a leaf or a stick.

Yea I guess If I would've spent $500+ on a videocard(s) I would expect better graphics. Sad part is byt he time Half life 3 comes out who knows how many new generations of video cards would be out.

Why did Crytech release Crysis 2 on console as well as PC? The simple answer, money. It’s well known that console games generally generate more revenue than its PC counterparts due to the ease of piracy for PC games, and also the fact that console games will run as long as you have the console, whereas for PC one might need to meet certain hardware requirements. However, Valve and Blizzard can attest that you can be very profitable making just PC games.

Crysis 1 was ahead of its time, and the PC community expected the same with Crysis 2; however the release not only failed to meet those expectations but also inadvertently betrayed the very people who supported the developers in the first place. Valve and Blizzard have shown that if you make quality games, games that break the mold and advance the genre, fans will buy it. Crytech had the chance, and the technology and power to really advance graphics and first person shooter to the next level, but instead, they chose the safe route and in turn neglected their most fervent supporters.

Am I mad? No, I am disappointed; it’s like watching someone with so much potential and promise choosing money over something greater. Crytech had the chance to make history, to be immortalized in the gaming genre along with the likes of Half-Life and Doom, but instead it just became another modern FPS.

I have the game here in front of me and it looks 5 times better than your screenshots. The game doesn't have the best graphics in the world but they look better than that on max settings over here. Plus, your card can run it fine so i don't know whats goin on.
I have to agree with you. I don't have the game in front of me atm, but I know the game doesn't look as bad as in those screenshots.

I'm thinking the same thing. Why are people relating tesselation and textures? Tesselation is a technique used to break geometry and objects up into more polygons to allow far more detail. Textures are then applied to that tesselated geometry, they're not directly part of the tesselation.

Game looks fantastic....for consoles. If all developers did what Crytek just did, all graphics would still look like pacman. I supported Crytek all the way until release date. Now i say STUFF THEM. Favourite developer just got flushed down the toilet where they belong.

I did that mod thing and the game looked almost great, not even close to crysis 1, but it's not all that crapy..

but one thing is for sure, crytek did not care for pc gamers, the game is all console, the gameplay, the scenes, it's not that whole "openworld" anymore.. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either..
