It's a 95w chip at stock, so obviously increasing the voltage will instantly push you past that limit. With that said, I'm fairly confident you'll be fine. Unless they skimped on the power phases or they're not cooled, you'll be fine.

This could happen.

Nah your probably ok unless your VRM's cant handle it because they are not cooled or have no heatsink as stated above. Most of us with 125w cpu's go over the rated wattage for the board as soon as we OC as well.

The power limit won't take effect unless you have the "per core" limits set on.

If you have it set to by all cores, with a single multiplier, and the per core changes "Disabled" (grayed out, along with the watts and amps), then the CPU can bypass the power limit without throttling itself. Basically, if the power limit field is "grayed out", as it is on Gigabyte boards, then it ONLY accesses the power limit at POST time. If you don't mind clearing the CMOS, you can actually test this (like, on a gigabyte board where the power limit fields are grayed out), by going to the core overclock options, enable the manual per core setting, going to the field for setting up the cores manually, which will unlock the TDP and TDC options. Then set them both to 30. Then move out so it grays it out again (make sure its grayed out) then set the per core settings BACK to disabled. Then save and exit the BIOS and watch what happens.

The computer will just freeze at POST and sit there. Because it won't even have enough power available to enter the BIOS. (Yes, you'll have to clear the CMOS to recover. Even the "failsafe overclock error" won't work, because the TDP/TDC value will be used before the computer can even finish accessing the BIOS.

Interesting, and utterly pointless test besides a time waster.
