No Signal when connected to my TV HELP!

I'm not exactly sure where to post this, so I hope this is the right spot.

Hi, I just got a 47" LG 120Hz LCD TV. When I try to hook my computer up to it, my TV says "No Signal" However, my computer recognizes the TV and let's me change all the settings(I also have my monitor hooked up to it, trying to get a clone display, but even extended doesn't work). What's really weird is when my TV is turned off, my computer still reads the display, but as a DIFFERENT device. And when I turn the TV on, my computer says the device is disconnected and then a different one is connected. My video card is a PNY GTX 465 unlocked to a 470. And I'm using a DVI to HDMI adapter with a 50 FT HDMI cable.

If anyone has any ideas on what the hell is going on, I'd appreciate the help. If you have any more questions let me know. I have tried changed the HDMI port it was plugged into on the TV, and hooked the HDMI cable up to my PS3, my PS3 displayed it fine, and switching ports didn't change anything.

Thanks.

UPDATE TIME!

Okay, so I just reinstalled Windows. And I managed to get a signal by having my TV being the only thing plugged in. However, the screen just goes black with any resolution over 1280 x 720.
