[SOLVED]System unstable yet prime stable?

** Update- I solved the issue turns out is was MSI AfterBurner(had to uninstall), it also crashed with sapphires own fan/volt/oc prog called TRIXX.

------------------------------
If this is in the wrong section pls feel free to move it.

Anyways my system keeps crashing during games like BC2, The Ball, COD. Thought it was the overclock had it sitting at 3.8 for a few months. I was using my brothers 5770 and was also using a single stick off cheap 2GB corsair ram.
Faeces kinda hit the fan on and off once I got my 2 sticks of GSkill and 6970.
My pc would crash during bc2 games a couple of times a day, so I messed with my overclock and ram multipliers and it went away for a week or 2 till I decided I wanted to hit 4ghz stable and crashing came back 10fold and then I downclocked to 3.8 again but the crashing didn't go away, it just wasn't as bad, I stupidly decided to clock back up to 4ghz then all hell broke loose.

After a boatload of priming I thought it was my ram so I memtested them, no errors, stuck the corsair I had in first when nothing was crashing, the pc still crashed during gaming and while priming would either BSOD or fail on large FFT on both the gskill and corsair.

I think its either the motherboard or cpu/memory controller?(i think), im at stock clocks, ram, volts everything stock again, didn't think it would crash any more but it still does, all the time during games, been priming for 22hours roughly(blend) and no errors, temps are all fine, decided to run furmark as well about 4 hours ago and was sure it would crash or BSOD but nothing so far, its all fine.

not a temp issue afaik, im kinda paranoid about temperatures, constantly monitoring them, cpu never went past 51c at 4ghz while running prime gxf doesnt go past 89c.

this is driving me mad, any help or suggestions would really be appreciated.

sorry for any bad English or mistakes kinda self taught english

I use LinX/IntelBurnTest for quick runs for stability... Prime95 is or has been a waste of time IMO and really only good for proofing an OC, but does little to determine stability in load crunches. I suspect your issue is memory related, be sure that your timings are correct as well as voltages, NB could also be a factor. That said, x6 cores are energy sponges, whats the phase setup on that mobo? Are you actively cooling the vrm's or passively?

Its a 8+2 phase & passively I guess. I replaced 3 of the fans in my 600T with noctuas so airflow shouldn't be an issue altho I do need to replace the front fan at some stage.
Im shattered atmo but I will check the stocks setting for the ram are correct tomorrow and test it on BC2.

Sounds like a plan, you may also want to scale back the NB and up the mem voltages a touch, I wanna say 1.51~1.55 is acceptable with your ram. Again can't stress LinX enough when it comes to forcing ram failure, it helped me A Lot!

Everything stock

RAM timings 9-9-9-24-33-2T = crash
RAM timings 9-9-9-24-33-1T = crash
-------
Ram volts (stock 1.51) @ 1.53 then later upped to 1.55
RAM timings 9-9-9-24-33-1T = crashed on both volts
-------
NB ////// Volt
1800 @ -0.025
1800 @ -0.050 (all 4 settings crashed)
1600 @ -0.050
1600 @ +0.025 just as a wild try.

now running LinX, are they any settings in particular I should have to try and force ram failure?

Forgot to say I got a "had Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered" error when The Ball CTD and managed to tab out of BC2 once today and also got it as well.

Just done a 500 run LinX and it passed with no errors after 17 hours. There has to be something wrong some where here, this doesnt make any sense
