955 still worth buying? - Page 2

"x4 955 4gb ddr3 ram and gtx 460
will it be a good gaming pc?"

Yes it will be good. You should be able to get playable frame rates (around 60) on every game on high settings. You should get 1600 or higher rated ddr3 ram though so you can overclock easy.

Although if your trying to max out settings on games like crysis I actually believe your gtx 460 would be a little bit more of a limiting factor then a overclocked 955.

the amd 955 was only $120 the other day on TigerDirect... this would bring you happy gaming for another 2-3 years easy (or at least until xbox 720 and PS4 is released)

Running Phenom II X4 955 and a 6850, both OC'd, CPU is at 4GHz and GPU at 950/4400 and I have no problems running games maxed with 4-8x MSAA (with a few exceptions) @ 1080p.

Go for phenom 955.It is still worth for buying.
Reason : cheap , performance and gaming Quad Core.

If u want to spent more money ,get i5-2500k .
Reason : performance , easy overclock over 4Ghz ,video rendering and gaming Quad Core.

I hope u have your own choice right now for choosing.
