My New Build!

Thread Starter
This build is heavily built for gaming. I am going to use this for gaming only as well as video rendering and photoshop. Rate and criticize my build and let me know what I should remove and change. Some things on my current rig I am keeping but most I am going to change out, like the CPU, GPU, RAM etc. I am keeping my PSU and Network Card still. I am wanting to upgrade and put a good bit of cash into because I am not happy with my current build.

In games like Call of Duty Black Ops, Global Agenda, Bad Company 2, Crysis 2 and so on @ 1600x900 Max Settings I get 40 FPS and sometimes I dip into the low 30s and 20s. I want to play @ Max Settings and get a very stable 60+ FPS with 1920x1080, so here is the build I am looking to do that with. I am also going to overclock the hell out of this bad boy also.

I was also wondering if I get that Blu Ray Burner will it burber CDs and DVDs also. And will it play CDs, DVDs and Blu Rays even though its meant for Burning Blue Ray Discs.

Ok,

Question for you, would you move to intel. The i5 2500k will outperform the x6 on every aspect

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/203?vs=288

I think the memory is a bit overpriced These will perform just as well.

I would seriously consider running a 3tb RAID5 array if you're going to be dropping that much on a hard drive. I'd have a look at 3x samsung F4's in raid5 for data storage.

At this kind of price point I would recommend either moving onto LGA1155, or saving up for AM3+ platform which'll be out soon (though you can buy a PC with AM3+ board now and upgrade later; one AM3+ board is already on sale at Newegg, and there are more to come)

I think you'd better go with 890FXA-UD5 (if you want a similar motherboard to Crosshair IV), or you could even take a cheaper one if you plan XFiring...
Also, I agree with compuman, I doubt you really need those dominators...

According to that, the 1100T won more than the Intel. 18 to Intel and 24 to AMD I think.

Whichever one you chose, it will make a brilliant gaming rig

I forgot to change it to the 1090t., at which point it gets beaten by the i5 and you realise some of them is lower is better. The i5 beats the 1100t on all counts. lol.

It's ok,

Don't get me wrong, AMD make some nice processors, and they are great for people who need to stick to a budget, they are just awesome bang for buck.

However,

The i5 2500k is beast of a processor, even trading blows with the i7 980x processors. That's how good it really is.

If you're going to be looking at video rendering, then yes, the i5 is just pure awesomeness. I also personally find intel's easier to overclock. And the i5 is just so simple to OC it's a joke.

I would like to get a i7 2600K but I can't find any ASUS ROG 1155 Boards in Stock.
