I agree eno439 its like saying you have never surfed porn. even my MOM has pirated.. although i had to warn her to stay away from the torrents. truth is, the best content can only be purchased and should be.

So what does this mean for indie cafe owners who offer unrestricted internet access to their customers?

Check your logs? See where your get requests have gone to.

I thought you couldn't talk about piracy on overclock.net but dozens of post talking about the best way to download illegaly is perfectly fine apparently, the site should be renamed to pirating.net, it would reflect its userbase more effectively.

All this talk about VPN. To be honest I don't understand why most people do P2P. Much like I don't understand why most people would rather game on a console rather than a computer. Lack of information maybe? Too expensive? All I know is usenets have been extremely good to me and being able to have a connection over SSL gives me the warm feeling I need. Not to mention a diagnostic modem with someone else's MAC makes the complexity even more of a headache. *yells loud into mic* I don't do any of this though..This stuff is getting out of hand and is going to continue to get out of hand until either a big CEO steps out of the shadows in favor of the consumer and his/her business or unfortunately the FCC gets involved.

I look at internet today as a commodity more so than a luxury..put a commodity out of the reach of the common man, bad stuff starts to happen.

Magnets won't do much, if you are really scared a surefire way to destroy the data is a hammer and nail, or fire. Even with magnets forensic investigators can recover data unless you have POWERFUL magnet. IM talking the kind that would cause your fingers to be severed.

And for the dudes that are asking "Do I need to contact my ISP to setup a VPN" you should probobly just not pirate or do anything like that because you have no clue what you are doing.

And for the record I don't actually download movies, I like to watch them in high quality and redbox/netflix and my 22TB WHS are good enough for me.
