you know how i know this? where i live i only have one ISP available and its a pretty small company. i basically have to use one of their radios on my roof to get their internet. Well when i first moved there i started torrenting, ofcourse i set the right setting in utorrent also was using a private tracker. Left it on over night and when i woke up in the morning my internet was off, called them up and they actually transferred me to a tech right away. he asked me if i was torrenting, i was like "maybe". I said was downloading Ubuntu. He said it puts to much load on their network and if i do it again they will cancel my service. So if he knew what i was downloading i'm pretty sure he would of told me that i wasn't downloading ubuntu. so in conclusion the ISP can see the traffic but they cant tell what your downloading if you have the encryption setting checked in utorrent.
That must be true because it would've been completely acceptable for the company rep to call you a liar right then and there and reveal he knew you were downloading porn. Right? No.

It still comes down to the fact that no one can say "That movie isnt worth 20 bucks to see" without seeing it first. If it isnt worth the money to see it isnt worth stealing.

Lol yea right, go google split vpn, if you aren't using it, you can be monitored.

Since when is wireshark a lan software? If you know the program u know it tracks every ip and the port u used to connect to anything online, game servers, websites, torrent downloads.

anything going through a vpn connection is encrypted from you to the vpn server..your isp cannot see whats going through the tunnel..after the server it goes to its original route but at that point it doesnt matter since its server->destination
you can achieve the same thing through ssh tunneling

what the hell are you on about now? any vpn connection by default uses the remote gateway. split vpn = turning the remote gateway off which means your still using your own internet. this is not what you want
