HD 6950 Power Control +MSI AB

Thread Starter
I have 2 HD 6950's Flashed with 6950 bios and unlocked shaders, but I want to overclock my card with AB but then I won't have the +20 Power Control thing that (if I remember right) gives alot more frames, is there any way to change this in AB?

I use Afterburner and CCC. I keep CCC at +20% power and use Afterburner to overclock and for it's custom fan profile.

Are you sure that Power Control really works with AB? I know that even when you set the overclock in AB, the power control bar stays at 20%, but I´m not 100% sure that it really works.

I think that the only way to know is measuring with a multimeter.

No. If you set powertune to +20% (it doesn't give more FPS, it gives the card more power) in CCC, and then you overclock with Afterburner, it will reset to 0%.

However, if you use Sapphire Trixx, you can overclock and still have the PowerTune settings kept. In short, Afterburner doesn't (and never will) support PT but Sapphire Trixx does.

Thanks Razi3l, why doesn't TRIXX support voltage control for my reference HD 6950? :S

Because so far it only supports voltage for Sapphire's non-reference cards (basically any card that has the same voltage controller as their non-ref cards, which are many). The reference cards' voltage controller isn't on the "support list" I guess though they may be a way around it. If you're a member on TPU, try asking W1zzard he may be able to help, because he wrote it so he may be able to provide you with a modded file or tell you how to do it or something.
