Overclocking. It can be done.
Welcome to the dark side ~ Huzaa.

The new drivers are actually controlling the overvolting better but, it's still a major OCP-related issue imo.

Good score though

I am seeing 0% ocp throttling at 1.038v and 822 clock. My memory is very hard to OC and not freeze.

This is on driver set 267.84 and Unigine 2.5. Not saying OCP throttling is non existant, just don't see any in Heaven (pun intended.)

Drivers could use some work, over all, very impressed so far.

Nice clocks bud. Good to see someone not giving a crap about what's been mentioned in news and just going all out.

It took me six hours, patience and a bunch of temperature sensors for me, so I did give a crap, I just didn't do it stupid like Sweclockers or W1zzard at TPU =). I hit every 10 MHz, and I actually stopped at 822 to try out 3dMark11. I also have a max temp of about 45c, so its not as scary as someone on air.

3DMark11 lowered my scores below stock so there is a weird invisible OCP / Throttling going on, despite clocks, voltages, and GPU usage about the same.

Best combo was around 700~740 @ 0.950v-0.988v.

On top of it, Levesque was nearby, so that should shut him up for about the GTXs 590 for a.... minute.

3DMark11 is still having issues w/benching and there's definitely some OCP still in place.

I was told this morning that it would eventually be slowly "lifted" but, they'll never fully take it off.

To my understanding the reason 0.95/0.988 was "perfect" is because even WITH the ocp limiting the voltage to the cores, it was still enough that the cores COULD run 100% and continue to draw.

You have to realize that 0.95 on these cards is realistically like 0.913...It's being limited 100%.

In CS6 I experience this fairly regularly...1 core is 100% with max V, other core is at 40% with a controlled reading...Aida gives me a different answer than Precision so, not too sure what/who to believe but, there's definitely some limiting going on there.

please refrain from trolling, or accusing others of doing the same. it doesn't help to clean up the issue either.

if you have issues, report, PM a mod, or use the ignore list function.

again, please don't do that - it causes more harm than it's worth

I didn't feel I was trolling, but I can drop the subject matter. Sorry.

Best I could get today:

Haha, I am not that old... starting to get forehead wrinkles bah. I am young enough looking to keep going to the bars with college students and not look out of place

I killed a card today... only temporarily =)

I believe I drew more power than my PSU could deliver on my 12v2 rail.

GPU went down for about 5 minutes only to bounce right back. Believe it took a minute or two to cool down my PSU to be honest.

So two overclocked GTX 590s + 4.8GHz on a i7 980x, drained my 1200W power supply. What a shame... Anybody want to trade PSUs (1200W for a 1200W) so I can keep benching =)?

You drew that much power that a 1200W PSU overheated? Amazing. That's a bit ludicrous lol.
Here is a change in my system. I'm thinking of changing my sound card to an ASUS Xonar STX and gettign around to installing the Noctua Fan I powder coated the shroud black. Then I think my systems nice and finished until I decide to upgrade to the 2011 Platform.

Fan looks identical to this (This pic was taken by another user in these forums)
