NVIDIA GTX 590 Owners Club - Page 12

I had a nvidia gtx 275 before hand. When I installed the drivers I told it to do a clean instal so that shouldn't be the problem...

I am going to try a vantage performance run here with fan set at 95% to compare with a stock fan, then I will try another clean install with the .85 drivers and see if that fixes it.

Thread Starter
I was wondering if I should do a completely fresh install when I get my card, but the problem is that I'm kind of pressed for time, and if I start fooling around with the windows installation I won't have any time to do benchies or game.

But I guess if everything works out normally I don't have to reinstall the whole windows.

Usually i do a fresh install ...
Just for the sake of it ... it's easier to isolate problems this way ... and you know everything will work with fresh driver installs ...

Ok downloading the new drivers.

Here is a small comparison for everyone to see. This is the exact same settings except the fan is manually set to 95% on the one.

http://3dmark.com/compare/3dmv/3027371/3dmv/3023525

Its 177 points difference. (I haven't use vantage enough, let me know if 177 is withing normal variances)

I will do another clean driver install with the .91 drivers and test again. Hoping for a large boost.....

Don't forget new drivers being pumped out, every day now it seems, are generally fixing problems, not performance boosts, so keep that in mind since you have had some BSODs.

Secondly, I had quite a bit of BSOD with a 1090t/1100T back in the day that was related to installing a 3rd 5870. Turns out I needed more CPU-NB voltage to handle the extra GPU so what are your settings, maybe I can trouble shoot it with you.
