So I have not kept up with this thread for the last 30 pages; what's the word on this card now that its been out a good month+? You guys still recommend it? I see it is "available" on evga's site at least for the hyrdocopper version, and I am still interested in getting one. Overclock wise, I doubt I would do anything major that would require any voltage bumps, but I am looking at a res of 2560x1600. Thoughts please?

Thanks peeps!

P.S. Is anyone running their monitors off DP? I noticed a funny issue. When I have a window open and I power off the monitor with DP, the windows get resized and some of my desktop icons get moved about into a more condensed form. DVI never did this. It seems to me when you disable your monitor DP downscales to its minimum resolution and then when the panel is turned back on it finds out what the native rez is again and makes it bigger.
I also noticed that with the DP connection you cant use the NVIDIA GPU scaling for resolutions (you know, stretch, maintain aspect ratio, etc) Can only select 'Display Scaling' which is what's built into my DELL U3011. What if my monitor didnt have a built in scaler? Like some of the LG panels?

I've got my Evga gtx590 installed and left it stock for now. I'm very happy with it so far and I've had no problems. Here's my proof, it's a screen shot with various apps running to show an 590 is installed.

My office just ditched all our X58's.

I had ordered 6x 980x's every core was a "dud" and fried out the classified 3's...Ugh, this has been such a headache.

Nobody at EVGA could figure it out and I mean NOBODY, turns out it was the cores.

Thank god that nightmare is over.

So, I upgraded everyone up to the P67 2600k via the Asus Sabertooth...

Hopefully the 590's, especially in SLI, will run just as well...I'm waiting to see what happens.

In my woes with these motherboards, I ended up talking to upper level tech about the voltage issues and I believe Cain is correct...

One thing I was told was that, more testing needed to be done (ahem) and that we should expect something "soon" to remedy the current issues or, if you choose to do it yourself, do it yourself.

We "did it" with 2 of our cards and I must say, I see a big difference HOWEVER, I do see some issues because certain strings are still in existance and I personally see them as limiting factors.

"We" have yet to determine what the strings are acting on behalf of or vice versa but, IMHO they do exist and are very present...

So tweak at your own risk but, I do see a performance increase.

+Rep to Mr. Cain.

Ah nice sounds interesting. Would love to see it officially released soon. Even if it decides to take its time, we can just refer to mister raging for a how - to (assuming he is kind enough to grace us with a how - to )

What kind of performance increases are we talking about? Less aggressive OCP or just more consistent frame rates?

Well, since day 1 I said that my belief was that it was the OCP.

I still stand by this.

To me, after editing drivers for the past 7 years, I see some new "things".

Among them, I see links between the driver/bios, I see some limits set and if one were to edit the bios, I do believe whatever those limiting factors are, still exist even though they're now changed.

It's almost like changing your multiplier...Even though you've changed the base, certain limiting factors still exist.

In OUR runs, I saw some issues, some performance decreases, etc etc etc.

That may be a circumstance of our chips/motherboards so, as I said earlier, I'll wait to pass judgement.

I do believe it would benefit the community to make a how-to and provide it on both venues BUT, I have heard from EVGA that they "may//will" be doing something soon to [correct] the issues.

I would say at the end of the day, we will have the ability to overclock without being limited at the low end.

Perhaps they'll allow a max of 1.25v or 1.3v as we all have noticed a +/- 0.2 difference in the cores.

IMO it will happen eventually but, keep in mind this LOCK exists because of people OCing in the first place.

You didn't have to, I just wanted to help people. Glad you are getting things setup.

Does this include the memory disappearing issue you reported?

If EVGA do not fix this specific issue, I will take matters into my own hands and test out a fix. I would be glad to aid anybody who wants their own personal bios tweaked/fixed. I will not remove power draw, and I will not adjust clocks above stock. If you want something like that privately, you can just PM me. Too many youngins get on here and just brick their stuff. So I will only publicly provide a fix. They can't deny a warranty like this anyways as its set to this value technically in BIOS.

I have faith in EVGA, from my understanding, stuff like this can't be rushed. I still would like to know whats going on of course.

As far as PowerDraw, its appears, I have not tested it, but it appears to be easily over-ridden. Although I feel that even on water, this is not a wise decision. I may just keep benchmarking Heaven, until 3DMark11 is no longer on the list.

The driver OCP is the issue really. Anything on that list is essentially crippling an overclock over 725 0.925/0.938v.

I still need to find away for people using 270.51/270.61 to "set" the voltage accordingly... I am still thinking on that. Hard to test though. I have not had a computer since Thursday.... case is taking toooooooo long to get here.
