I'm thinking about going SLI instead of changing a 580 when Kepler comes out which will take me easily to Maxwell.

I'm figuring Kepler being first run 28nm fabrication will be like first run Fermi. I'd wait it out and by Maxwell the bugs will be ironed out.
Do you mean evga's sli enhancement patcher? Because that is usually 100% worth it. The pain of it is they rarely tweak the beta drivers. Installing old enhancements over newer drivers will work but often times the game glitches fixed in the newer drivers get unfixed.

I am with you 100% on waiting for Maxwell and maybe dual GPU it again. Hopefully with more robust VRM. If maxwell follows road map we may see a tri-gpu card given PCI-e 3.0 power delivery ability/bandwidth and the efficient maxwell design.

Sent. Might have to just post them on the forums. I gave EVGA plenty of time to fix their BIOS.

Edit: Attached them.

backa.rom - Plain EVGA GTX 590 GPU0 - BIOS 92
backb.rom - Plain EVGA GTX 590 GPU1 - BIOS 93
GTX590A.ROM - Modded BIOS 92, stock voltage 0.975v, correct voltage display.
GTX590B.ROM - Modded BIOS 93, stock voltage 0.975v, correct voltage display.

All properly down volt/downclock on idle, the stock clocks are 630 MHz (standard EVGA).

Confirmed that on 275.33 drivers, having zero issues since fixed (the ones I previously could barely install.)

You can also down volt to your hearts content, but keep an eye on Afterburner... for some reason on 2.2.0 Beta 3, its not adjusting the voltages on the other GPUs even if you have it synchronize settings for identical GPUs so you have to manually adjust them lower on each one.

GTX590A-2.ROM is a special ROM, which I have enabled the nVidia OEM message saying "Your running RagingCain's Modded 92/93 BIOS."

Please don't use if you don't know what you are doing. I take no responsibility for any screw ups or burnt cards. You can always attempt a blind flash if it goes horrible, hence the backa/backb.roms.

To flash, you will need to read a guide and create a bootable USB drive, put nvflash and associated CP.exe with the ROMs in the root directory.

Once booted into C:\\ (prompt) the command to begin is:
nvflash -4 -5 -6 GTX590A.ROM

It will display a lot of text/data then ask you (Y)es, (A)bort, (S)kip. If you want to continue press Y.

Once back on C:\\ command line type:
nvflash -4 -5 -6 GTX590B.ROM

Y again for the win.

Note: If you have two 590s, after you flash one GPU0 (you have two GPU0s, and two GPU1s), it will scan for anymore GPU0s, and ask if you want to flash it too. Y is the same answer here.

So if you have 2 590s, you will have to press Y twice when its asked to successfully flash both GPU0s and twice more for GPU1s after nvflash is ran again.

Another Asus 590 has come in stock on newegg. I was pondering pulling the trigger today again. I decided against it since I still don't know if they're coming out with rev 2 or not.

I haven't heard of any revison 2. It would mean they admit there was a problem.

I have heard ASUS putting out a GTX 580x2 dual gpu which is a non-refernce pcb of two fully loaded 580's no holding back. It might be rumor.

There will be NO revision 2.

The run of 590's is done, there will be no more staggered releases.

I actually discovered how many 590's we have as a vendor and I'm very suprised.

The ONLY upcoming dual GPU card is the Asus 580x2 that will be priced at over 1000$ on 1.5g's.

The Asus model, isn't that impressive...Nor am I currently impressed with my 590's, thus the 6990's but, in truth I'm even less impressed with the 6990's so, let's not go there all-together.

Stock is out, it won't be back in, if you find a 590 and truly want one, get it while you can.

Nothing like Kingpin to restore some faith in this card with his Zombie creation:

THE fastest single video card in the world. His vantage benchmark was better than my SLI 580s @ 965 MHz.

Best part, according to him, he isn't even done tweaking it, and has more voltage mods to do for the Memory.

On another note, request for a 1.0v bios was made, so I attached it here.

Please use responsibly, and if you are not overclocking, lower the voltage.

I also want to add, I haven't had one gosh darn problem since flashing. Looks like I am stable again.

Stable with the new WHQL as well?
