If anybody wants me to mod any bios, just attach their personal GPU0/GPU1 bios in a .zip or .rar to the post and give me the settings. To get your own BIOS, open up GPU-z and select the specific GPU at the bottom with the drop down box, and next to BIOS version there is a tiny little "BIOS Chip Image" this is actually to save a dump of your BIOS.

If you have SLI, I only need the first card. IF they are not identical BIOS versions, then definitely give me all 4 and you can flash 4 times.

I WILL NOT change clock speeds, and the max voltage I will unlock is 1.05v.

I'm kinda bummin.

It looks like my PSU may be going out, so now that I know that I have to upgrade that, I really want to add a second GTX 590 for Quad SLI.

I was going to come into the money next week to get one too, but the 2 that were in stock at the Fry's in the area are gone as well as the stock at EVGA's own store.

I'm hoping someone is going to read online all the bad hype about how the card won't overclock and return one to a Fry's. But my expectations are pretty managed.. As in, I expect to not end up being able to find a second card to SLI with my current one.

It is what it is, I guess..

Games are getting crushed already, but I liked RagingCain's advice of going big with the 590's and using them through Kepler until they make sure the new architecture has all the kinks worked out.

My plan was to get a second card, and then get the Dell 2560x1600 monitor everyone raves about, or 3 of them. But with only one card, I don't know if it'll be worth it. I like to turn "everything" up to 11 when I game smile.gif

But I can't really complain or be bummed, I guess. Just on this one card, I am still getting an avg. of 80-120fps on BFBC2 with my Vsync turned off and everything turned up including in game AA at 32xaa (or whatever it exactly is) on my 60" Plasma..

Well, if I somehow land into another one, I'll be stoked. But if not, is it worth it to go get a 2560x1600 display or 3 with just one 590 if you 'have' to turn everything up to "11"?

The Spinal Tap metaphor hits perfectly how I feel about the GTX 590..

Q:"Why would you buy a card with so low clocks that you can't overvolt into a small generator...?"

A:"Yeah but..... This one goes to 11."

The GTX 590 was a limited run and it may be hard to find now. I been watching and none of the Fry's in Arizona have any in stock ever anylonger. Newegg every now and a blue moon and it's scooped up same night.

A Corsair 1200AX is an awesome PSU and most of the EVGA members would concur if your thinking about doing it right.

Edit: Attached them.

backa.rom - Plain EVGA GTX 590 GPU0 - BIOS 92
backb.rom - Plain EVGA GTX 590 GPU1 - BIOS 93
GTX590A.ROM - Modded BIOS 92, stock voltage 0.975v, correct voltage display.
GTX590B.ROM - Modded BIOS 93, stock voltage 0.975v, correct voltage display.

All properly down volt/downclock on idle, the stock clocks are 630 MHz (standard EVGA).

Confirmed that on 275.33 drivers, having zero issues since fixed (the ones I previously could barely install.)

You can also down volt to your hearts content, but keep an eye on Afterburner... for some reason on 2.2.0 Beta 3, its not adjusting the voltages on the other GPUs even if you have it synchronize settings for identical GPUs so you have to manually adjust them lower on each one.

GTX590A-2.ROM is a special ROM, which I have enabled the nVidia OEM message saying "Your running RagingCain's Modded 92/93 BIOS."

Please don't use if you don't know what you are doing. I take no responsibility for any screw ups or burnt cards. You can always attempt a blind flash if it goes horrible, hence the backa/backb.roms.

To flash, you will need to read a guide and create a bootable USB drive, put nvflash and associated CP.exe with the ROMs in the root directory.

Once booted into C:\ (prompt) the command to begin is:
nvflash -4 -5 -6 GTX590A.ROM

It will display a lot of text/data then ask you (Y)es, (A)bort, (S)kip. If you want to continue press Y.

Once back on C:\ command line type:
nvflash -4 -5 -6 GTX590B.ROM

Y again for the win.

Note: If you have two 590s, after you flash one GPU0 (you have two GPU0s, and two GPU1s), it will scan for anymore GPU0s, and ask if you want to flash it too. Y is the same answer here.

So if you have 2 590s, you will have to press Y twice when its asked to successfully flash both GPU0s and twice more for GPU1s after nvflash is ran again.

Well I have flashed both of your bios revisions to my EVGA GTX-590 but the max volts I can set per Afterburner is 0.963. Is this because the drivers are limiting it? I use 275.33.

Evil Clocker was saying the same thing, its really weird.

I am reading mine as 0.975v

What are you guys using for voltage monitoring/unlocking?

I am using Afterburner 2.2.0 Beta 3, with Voltage Monitoring, and Unlocked voltage.

Try these. If they don't work, you are going to have to give me a different BIOS to work with so a stock EVGA bios.

Here ya go. Let me know if its working.

The other users using the EVGA Bios's seem to be locked to 0.963v.

Let me know if yours is unlocked all the way to 1.05v.

@All
If anybody wants a BIOS modded with the fan speeds unlocked let me know, I can try 10 - 100%. Actually, I won't won't lower the speed at all but I might be able to unlock up to 100% if you want.
