Hey Smo, try increasing the CPU vcore voltage a little, it may be slightly unstable (but not unstable enough to crash) that it lowers performance. If no change, then lower your CPU vcore.

Also try a different program. Every other game (except 3DMark11) I get the same crappy GPU usage.

Thinking about getting this card since no 6990 is available anywhere. Do you guys recommend the ASUS or EVGA??

The Asus is available at my microcenter...

Asus works well enough. But with EVGA you get higher clocks and a better warranty.

Thanks for the suggestion - unfortunately I've just started the commute to work so can't get to my PC for another 13 hours or so.

Currently my 2500k is at 4.4GHz with the only BIOS mods being a x44 multiplier and VRM frequency set to 350. I'm assuming that because I want to keep the idle downclock (on the CPU) that I would have to increase the offset voltage? If so I'm thinking change that to -0.010 and see if the GPU usage in Crysis is still erratic?

I played Crysis 2 to see if there was any difference and it was hitting 98% GPU usage and behaving as normal. Same with Metro 2033.

Do you think slight instability in the chip could just rear it's head randomly? After all I've been playing the original Crysis flawlessly and all of a sudden last night my GPU usage decides to be pants!

I just can't fathom what seems to have changed.

Sounds like the rest of us, waiting for drivers...

Most Dx9 titles and AAA Dx11 titles work perfectly. Anything else is a whole nother question. It sucks, but thats the way it is.

My first card was dead, so I arrived about a week and half late in the scene, but pretty much since release. We have been waiting for drivers.

I have heard from other forums, nVidia especially, to use driver set 267.91 (or 85) if you like overclocking. Really big gains on performance most titles are in 99% usage.

What I think happened is that the 267.xx team was different than the 27x.xx team, so obviously a lot of "game fixes" probably didn't make to each generation.

Rumor has it that 280 is just around the corner. I personally don't understand their numbering convention at all, but I will take it stride, and remember the good driver sets so far.

Ok maybe someone in here can help me understand *** is with this. Dood with 2x EVGA gtx 480's OC'd to i think its 850/2200 scored a P47667 on 3dmark vantage GPU physx on.
I've finally gotten myself to tap slightly into the 48k's. Now heres where I'm confused. On Jane Nash and New Calico tests we both scored nearly identical scores on FPS. However on Texture Fill, Color Fill, Pixel Shader, Stream Out, GPU Particles, and Perlin Noise he scored way over mine, in every test. For example in Perlin Noise I do about 170 while he scored 230.

I mean am I doing something wrong because it would just stump me if 2 480's can defeat "2 580's" at that magnitude. CPU and PhysX have no bearing here because my CPU and PhysX scores are significantly higher than his.

On another note on my PSU I have 4 8pin female ports specifically labeled for PCI-E and 4 8pin female ports specifically labelled for pretty much everything else. There is also an 8pin PCI-E cable coming out of the main harness of the PSU.

Being that the 590 calls for 2 8pins, I have the 8pin coming directly out of the main harness of the PSU and 1 8pin going into the PCI-E specific ports on the PSU plugged into the 590. Can anyone tell me if theres any good reason why I should unplug the main harness PCI-E and run the 590 directly off 2 of the PCI-E plug ins?

^ Incase my explanation is garbage. Red is PCI-E specific.

Clocked my cards up to 1340/1728 just for kicks and got a new 3DMark11 Performance score of - 14311P

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/1542312

Not bad. Not sure how stable it is though. Or really worth it for performance when everything runs 120fps+ with everything maxed out on just about every game I have.

While I'm sure people are hitting VRam limits on 2560x1600 or Surround, On one 120hz Full HD/3D 1080p display, one or two of these cards runs like a dream.

The 590's are so good to me right now that every time I quit a game, I feel like I want to have a cigarette and I don't even smoke.

Hi there.

Is there any possibility to buy a double set of GTX 590 HC from evga online stock here: http://www.evga.com/products/moreInf...s%20Family&sw= and deliver to the Poland?

Do I have any chance to get it and send it to a Poland? I see it's not available right now. But I wonder when it will be available. It seems to the "Notify me" option doesn't work properly (at least in my case).

Thanks for the reply.

PS. Of course here, in Poland i can't get any HC card (590 and even 580).

David.
