Ok maybe someone in here can help me understand *** is with this. Dood with 2x EVGA gtx 480's OC'd to i think its 850/2200 scored a P47667 on 3dmark vantage GPU physx on.
I've finally gotten myself to tap slightly into the 48k's. Now heres where I'm confused. On Jane Nash and New Calico tests we both scored nearly identical scores on FPS. However on Texture Fill, Color Fill, Pixel Shader, Stream Out, GPU Particles, and Perlin Noise he scored way over mine, in every test. For example in Perlin Noise I do about 170 while he scored 230.
I mean am I doing something wrong because it would just stump me if 2 480's can defeat "2 580's" at that magnitude. CPU and PhysX have no bearing here because my CPU and PhysX scores are significantly higher than his.
On another note on my PSU I have 4 8pin female ports specifically labeled for PCI-E and 4 8pin female ports specifically labelled for pretty much everything else. There is also an 8pin PCI-E cable coming out of the main harness of the PSU.
Being that the 590 calls for 2 8pins, I have the 8pin coming directly out of the main harness of the PSU and 1 8pin going into the PCI-E specific ports on the PSU plugged into the 590. Can anyone tell me if theres any good reason why I should unplug the main harness PCI-E and run the 590 directly off 2 of the PCI-E plug ins?
^ Incase my explanation is garbage. Red is PCI-E specific.
