I customized my drivers this go and while I wouldn't exactly call myself happy, I'm content.

That's a hell of a lot better than having an issue and AMD telling you "our driver is perfect".

Trust me, the 590 will grow into a good investment.

Nice!

That makes me even happier that I pulled the trigger on a second one ninja.gif

I really hope you're right bud - I'm getting towards the end of my patience here.

I still don't quite know how to sort my second GPU being at maximum clock speed all the time - it seems to have happened ever since plugging in my second XL2410T.

It happens with dual monitors. GPU 2 will never go idle if you have 2 monitors. It will always be in power state 0.

If you flip your monitors around in their DVI ports on the card, like instead of having them plugged in both in A, try A and B, try A1 and B, then try A2 and B. Certain combinations will land you having GPU1 staying in P0 all the time instead of GPU2. It's just the way it works.

Don't blame ya for being irritated with it, its silly imo. If 1 GPU can run 1 monitor at lower power state, why can't 2 GPU's run 2 monitors at lower power state.

I didn't know that about dual monitors hmmm. Good to know Surround idles which is unfair for you guys.

Just so you guys know, I have already started Heaven/3DMark 11 benched in the 590 vs 6990 thread. Metro 2033 is up next (perhaps this evening) any of you are more than welcome to enter, all the instructions are in main of that thread. All I ask is that you submit benches in the same format as me. I don't know why but the 6990 guys seem really reluctant since they are going to win anyways.

If it was a serial based warranty asus i would buy it in a heartbeat but with EVGA its already been registered so the next owner is SOL
