Hey buddy, i looked into this a while back and im pretty sure they are not the same 8 pin connectors, you need the PCI-E 8 Pin which PC Case Gear doesn't stock, I was looking for them myself

That is for ATX motherboards, for when you want to route the power cable behind the motherboard tray and up from the top and or it just plain doesn't reach to begin with.

Soooo I put this to you knowledgeable gentlemen. Witcher 2 ran flawlessly on 280.19 drivers, even OC'ed to 740. What is happening? PDL? Thermal? (Though it tops at 53?) I am so confuse.
The 280.26 have a hard voltage limit like all the drivers before 280.19
If you notice your voltage adjustment is greyed out, even if you enabled it (in the options) you would have a max of whatever factory default the card came with. This is set in the bios.

RagingCain has offered modified bioses to change the default and fall back voltages to be higher to allow adjustment. Go to this thread for more info:
http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/1063...ng-thread.html

As far as GPU usage that looks about right. What I am seeing is the gpu's are hitting whatever frame limit cap you have enabled. Whether it be vertical sync or a hard frames/sec limit enforced by the code i do not know (not familiar with witcher 2). When it hits this cap it has less usage, but then falls behind and goes back up to 100%.... rinse and repeat.

For that one long dip to 10% in the middle there, I am assuming that is where a loading screen was, or you alt+tabbed out of the game to the desktop, or used the steam overlay and it hung for a bit (seen it happen).....

So in conclusion, from as far as I can tell.... your card is performing exactly as it should. Or am I missing something?

I know all about the voltage and whatnot but what's confusing is that it's never behaved like this in the game before. I was previously running it hotter and harder with beta drivers and beta afterburner. Vsync/framecaps are disabled since the avg. fps according to geforce.com with this game maxed (sans ubersampling) is either 62 or 72. Seems to be running fine now, so it must have been a fluke of some sort. Usually 99% GPU usage on both dies.

I should receive my 590 in the mail either today or tomorrow, can anyone tell me, if im currently using the 280.26 drivers with my GTX 275, do I need to do anything when I put my 590 in? Like a clean driver install of 280.26? Or will it work fine with whats currently installed.

Ill also post pics so I can be added to the club .

There's another thread on the EVGA boards linking to a German site who claims they saw a "GTX 595" running BF3 at Gamescomm. And that it is an upcoming card with proper VRAM chips and higher clocks closer to a true 580..

Hmm... Another rumor? Or a place holder while Kepler is delayed? Sorry I don't have a link, I'm posting from my phone...

Oh, and I am super psyched I got my cards before they disappeared too

If you were selling a non hydro I would consider it, but my system isn't water cooled.
i've got two Palit 590. they're just the same as others. basically all 590 are from one factory, all are reference. Asus, Palit and others just put their stickers on them and thats all the difference. and they run just the same as 590 from other brands. they're cheaper (Palit) because there is only card itself, 2 6-pin-to-8-pin cable, drivers CD and little book inside the box.
and i would recommend 280.19 - you could use voltage tweaking for small OC. even on air you can get some MHz

as for 595 - there were no news about it from may, i think its just the previous name of mars 2.

...Kepler isn't exactly delayed...They're having issues applying...Well, I can't say really.

I don't think they'll do a 595 but, considering how much free time they have now, who knows.

The MARS2 is the only "595" currently out that I would think the rumor is about.

As to the future, well, that depends entirely on Nvidia and if they'd incorporate the new arch into the "590"s...
