Nevermind, I didn't notice your mobo, it only has 1 x16 slot. 1x 590 is as good as your gunna get on that board.

i'll change the mobo in a near future, regarding newer sockets, and i'll make sure it'll be SLI ready. With that in mind, keeping the 580 up is better, isn't it?

2x 580 on a x16/x16 SLI capable mobo will beat a single 590.

It's time to upgrade the video card. I finally decided on the EVGA GeForce GTX 590 Classified Hydro.

I just ordered one.

Why the EVGA GeForce GTX 590 Classified Hydro? It fits my case at 11" long. Unfortuneately, for me and ATI, the 6990 cards are 12+" long so scratch the 6990 for me. Also I'd like to see what Physx is all about. Per the reviews, the GTX 590 runs Metro 2033 very comfortably as a single card solution with all eye candy set at max and thus should run Metro 2034 well when it is released to the gaming community. Shades of Crysis - all other video cards, except the 6990 and SLI/Crossfire configurations, have trouble running Metro 2033 at max. (google: "metro 2033 590 utube" and you will find a series of videos where someone recorded Metro 2033 with all eye candy on) Hopefully, as a GTX 500 series videocard owner, I will get a long term bang for my buck. This card is watercooled so it will get me into the water cooling thing finally. Nothing else but this card will be watercooled initially. And finally ... this video card comes with a t-shirt and I need a new t-shirt.

Hey guys.

I joined this forum just for this thread, and I'm wondering how in the hell you guys keep your GTX 590 stable, mine crashes at 660 Hertz after only 20 minutes :c

Please help me get a good clock, I really want to push this thing a lot further.. And keep it stable.

Here's my card for proof.

I've been using MSI Afterburner, is that a bad one?

Hello shenta, welcome to OCN! Nice card you got there!
First, wich driver version are you on? This is crucial with 590s.
I use MSI afterburner as well, and it overclocks my 580 just fine. You really should be getting a stable system with that tiny OC...

I'm on the latest driver.
Right now I run in stock but this is what I tried running it at..

Crashed in like 6 minutes in BC2.
I'm eventually going to buy a water block but not until the beginning of next year.

well, my best guess is you're pushing too hard the memory and shader clocks. A 30 mhz on the core clock is OK and won't cause you any trouble but the stock clocks for your Classified 590 are Core Clock Speed: 630MHz / Memory Clock Speed: 3456MHz / Shader Clock Speed: 1260MHz. So you're doing 30 Mhz on core, 71 mhz on memory and 60 mhz on shader clock. I'd try to even that out and see how it goes

revert to 280.19 (or whatever number the beta 280 series was) and up the voltage a bit and 660 would be easily stable.....

What voltage? Is it okay if I put the core to 700Hertz cus that's where I want it to be.
