How retarded do you have to be to let the card get so outrageously hot? Another one has opened threads about his failing motherboards and CPUs in the past. His PSU sucks or obviously he doesn't have a UPS to stabilize his crappy mains output.

On top of these idiots, ATi zealots further degrade the issue to the point that most people who don't have a clue get scared off and buy a 6990 instead. Just click on Pedros' link and follow it to those other forums as well. Those posts reek of ignorance and fanboyism.

I totally agree with this

Considering the new drivers apparently clock it down to 550(or below 600) when OCP kicks in, it's safe to say nVidia realizes they messed up.

Just because someone says the card is flawed(which it is) doesn't mean they are "ati zealots". It's not the buyer of the 590 that should need to defend themselves because nVidia screwed up. This is like calling people PS3 fanboys when someone mentions the 360 had RROD issues.

We get you need to justify your purchase and don't want to feel burned about your decision. The denial sounds just as bad. Just because your card might not die, doesn't mean everyone else that ran into the issue at hand screwed up. That's just ridiculous.

Hi all,
I will post my proof pictures after minutes too.

I have a question and will be very thankful if someone could help. I have two 590 and want to test them (or just one) now under Linux. There is no official driver till now. If it was “normal” case ok, but after so many posts about damaged cards and bangs even on stock clocks I started to worry.

What do you think? Is it good idea, to test the card with current drivers or to wait? Does anybody have some experience under Linux?
... errr ... you bought 2 590's to use under Linux ? ...

Just to try to understand ... you are joking right?

Not only Linux:)
I bought them for CUDA applications and calculations:)

I'd say it doesn't hurt to try... only a few people on these forums really have linux experience and I doubt no one here has experience of running a system with 4 brand new GPUs under linux.

E: you shouldn't be frying cards just booting and stuff, if that happens it would probably have fried itself anyways.

I wasn't talking about you and since you've jumped right on the topic like a carp (it's a Turkish expression), you're on your way to becoming (if you're not already) a fanboy. Gratz.

Yeah nvidia messed up really bad. What is your degree in electronics, sir? I really want to read your academic reports on semiconductors.

I'm playing a whole variety of games and I've never seen the GPU clock go lower than stock. So that argument is unproven.

The card is perfectly operational at stock voltages and speeds so it is not flawed. You on the other hand are, since no one except me has given any attention to you (guess what your flaw is). I can't see anyone defending themselves so I don't understand your point (if there is any). If by mentioning you mean: "LAWLS TEH CARD BURNZ GET ATI PWNZOR!1!!11" yes, they are blind zealots. If anyone says "TEH XBOXZ RRODS SUX GET PS3 NOW!1!1!!11" yes, he is a PS3 fanboy, oh or didn't you know?

I get that you need to justify YOUR purchase and try to prove that you're "The Uberskilled PC God" by attacking threads and don't feel like the underachieved ignorant you are, but please, get a life. Everyone that has ran into the issue screwed up at some point. That's why I mentioned what they exactly did before and during the screw-up. You're just ridiculous.
