-A1 (old revision):

Charged = 668MHz
Ultra Charged = 692MHz

-A2 (new revision)
Charged = 640MHz
Ultra Charged = 670MHz

Make sure you have good airflow in the case.
That's the thing, other games, including BC2 run at the temps you mentioned. It's only Metro 2033 which makes the temps so high...
Well, Furmark too after 15 mins or so.

I also own a POV ultracharged A2 rev - 670 clock , its in a corsair 800d case ( all fan positions used and filled with xigmateks as its not known as a good air case ) and normally average high 60's after a few hours of bc2 , idle is low-mid 30's , ambient is around 22 .

Yes it is. I'm guessing it should be, right?

There is/was no second revision.

The cards were produced in 1 "run" on 2 different production lines.

I have 2 samples in the office that run 670mhz 24/7 and my "Rev 2" that runs 720mhz 24/7 in fact, both of mine do 700mhz+ 24/7.

At home, my card is a Rev 2 and runs 692mhz stock...

There were not 2 different versions...There were not 2 different productions...There was no real revision.

Your card will operate at the max specs it can run at...This is true of every card.

It is possible they were flashed differently but, the runs were identical...And I highly doubt they took the time to make the swap.

That being said Furmark pushes the fan to 100% which, doesn't exactly circulate cold air considering you need a very solid intake...This //can// cause heat issues...

I have no clue whether there was 1 or 2 batches made but i can say for sure that POV had the " rev 1 " cards clocked at 670 / 691 and the " rev 2 " cards clocked at 648 / 670 for the charged and ultra charged versions . probably just a bios mod as you suggest , perhaps 691 was a bit too much for their warranty department ?! .
Regardless at 670 i should have mentioned that i have setup a custom AB fan profile but apart from that its completely stock and has good temps / very quiet .
If i run vsync on it will barely hit 50 but cant deal with the mouse lag , kinda dissapointed that the fps limiter did'nt make the new drivers as they said it would but hey i digress .
Lastly i should say i have never ran furmark on it , cant see the point ( ran it on earlier cards ) and all it does is stress the cards way beyond anything that will happen in the real world .

Also, it seems when I am browsing the net and scrolling through webpages, my idle temps on the video card are hitting higher temps than before. Usually I would never really reach over 48-50C while doing things (complete idle is around 38-40C) and now I am reaching close to 58C.

I don't know if its from the new driver or what...but I am waiting to hear from more GTX 590 owners with the new driver to see what results they are getting. I guess I will try reinstalling the new drivers again, but I don't know what good it will do.
LOL, just got fan spike... back to 275.33 oh and btw, **** you nvidia.

Of course there in _NO_ second revision of Nvidia GTX 590 card but there is revision of PoV TGT overclocked cards which means that cards with -A2 revision sticker don't run at so high clocks as -A1 did.

The revision 1 cards are "unlocked" for the most part...The revision 2 cards are hit or miss...This goes for every single manufacturer because, like I said, the PCB's were made in 1 shot...They literally set up Kepler the next day.

I think certain companies started to flash the rev 2 cards differently just because of the time that they were released...Hardware wise, they're the exact same cards...Software, there are some different bios's out there so, if PoV were to have flashed their software differently, that I can buy.

However, like I said, we have 6 in the office and each has a different roof, some of the Rev 2's go higher than the Rev 1's and I know my original card (Evga SRL#30) could hit 850mhz@1.00v without batting an eye.

great, I just realised that undervolting it to reference card settings in order to keep temps a bit more in check is not an option, since voltage control is locked (probably by the bios?)...

Get in contact with PoV and tell them your problem.
