I would like to ask at here. Anybody use their GTX 590 playing Battlefield 3 (ultra) with 2560 x 1600 resolution?

What is the minimum and maximum fps? Do you feel any lag? Any bugs?

I really want to know, some of people saying that Nvidia card perform better in Battlefield 3. smile.gif Any Idea?

I'm playing on a 30" Dell -- And that resolution. I get roughly 70-80 FPS the last time I checked (From memory, anyway. I'll double check tomorrow.) -- I haven't played on Campaign yet, though and I hear for some reason you get better FPS in Campaign then you do in MP.

I hope that helps! What are you getting?

Oh and my keyboard doesn't have a print screen button. Does a case photo with the GTX 590 powering away suffice for proof? xD

Oh well, i'm not reverting back just yet. I'll continue to see how these drivers work out. I usually uninstall PhysX and the Display Driver from the CP, reboot and install the new drivers. For the first time i chose the clean install option. Also, i flashed my BIOS, went from 90 and 91 to 92 and 93.

So far 285.62 got me a DNR in 3DMark11 and Rage freezing my system right after launching from Steam (2nd launch after reboot worked). Now waiting for BF3 to install...

People with spike fan issue please make a post here with with your version of BIOS and GTX 590 vendor:

I've just talked with ManuelG the NVIDIA Forums Technical Advisor and he said he will file a bug if some other people with this problem will post in that topic on NVIDIA forum.

Thank you. I'll file a bug however if you do talk to other people complaining about this, could you please ask them to post here and include their board maker, VBIOS version and verify this only happens with R280.xx drivers or later:

I went to Vegas this weekend and had some luck playing poker. I won 2 small tournaments and had some cash burning a hole in my pocket, so I stopped by Fry's on my way out of town. I thought I would buy a cheap GPU so I could turn on the power on my new build while I continued my search for a 590. Guess what I found just waiting for me to spend some of my cash on, this Asus GTX 590! Can I join the club now?

I'm on 1900 x 1080

Yeah I can get FPS around your fps smile.gif

my stock 590 in bf3 with everything maxed + vsync uses only about 50% of each gpu at 1980x1080. it's bored.....

stays about 70c max even after being used for hours.

I haven't seen either card reach over 88C - Card 'A' sits at about 83C and the second gets up to 87C max and on really big maps I sometimes see it hit 88C and that's with both cards under 80-99% load. And I live in Australia -- So my ambient temp is sitting around 26-30 easily. The summer will see 40, so that should be interesting.

I'm considering some more cooling - I don't know what yet, though. But the stock definitely sucks. Any news on when some custom air cooling comes out for it? Or am I dreaming?

[UPDATE]

Was just playing BF3 Campaign - Played for a solid 45 minutes and the highest the first GPU got was 76C and the second was 82C. I was getting about 60 FPS outside with settings on Ultra everything on 2560 x 1600.

I think I may have to get a smaller screen haha! Will having a smaller resolution / screen yield better FPS? I'm considering a 27" or maybe two 24"? Let me know, please!

yeah you'll definitely get better fps on a monitor with a 1920x1080 resolu.
