I am not extremely happy with it. I am comfortable with its performance, yeah that's what I feel like.

I will either go for a 590 or wait for 680 or 690 or whatever it will be.

As far as the Vram, what were you playing on that screen? I got to the Vram limit on my 570's at 1920x1200 maxing out crysis 2 with DX11 and high-res pack but it did nothing to performance at all. it rode 1280MB like it was going out of style. It took 3 570's to gain enough GPU power to show it but it still had 0 effect on playability. Were you trying to run on a 120/240hz tv with interpolated frames that might have caused it to look like it was?

I was told to look for an answer on Monday so, Mark or Tim...Which means that it will be about 10 pages of technical crap but, it will be a good, solid answer.

As far as on the big screen...Our office is basically a giant L...My office is basically at the end of the L next to our server farm and the interns occupy the bottom of the L so, it's a very open, yet personal office...I.E. everyone has their own space etc etc etc.

We have a sample Aquios and the thing is F'ing massive...I can't give up the size because it's not out yet but, we throw everything on there.

Fraps actually can't run on the screen because of resolution issues so, BF3 games are out but, the interns freely stream practically whatever they want on it...2 of them are on "pro" CoDBO teams so, they've transferred over to MW3 and they throw their games up there...SC2 games are streamed...Netflix...3 of the interns are RPI graduates so, we're tapped into their database (...I'd give a nut for their cloud capacity)...We stream anything and everything...

We tried allowing family to come to like a movie night and Aquios slapped me with an NDA requirement that's literally 50 pages long with a signature required on like 20 of them...So, we only got like their brothers/sisters to come...Ended up watching Despicable Me...Which, kicks some serious cohones at 1080p...Especially when the little girl is like "IT'S SQUISHY" in the theme park...I laughed so hard I spit water everywhere. ~ I also got so tired of them getting rickrolled on the big screen, I literally blocked ALL INSTANCES of that crap from our servers...permanently.

What happens is, 1080 is always 1080, however when I was using the 590 as a mediapc it just couldn't hack it...I think a lot of it has to do with the SIZE of the screen considering the resolution is "fixed" but, I had to go 3gbs...So, now our mediabox is SLI 580 3gb's and it has 5tb's of storage which are almost full again...

Come Kepler you'll start to see a trend..."Bigger is better" which is why I keep saying, make sure you have a 3gb in reserve because 1.5 just isn't enough for anything that's coming our way.

SFR vs. AFR ~ I actually sent an email out last night to one of the lead designers at Nvidia to see if I could get an answer because, ironicaly as we were having this discussion I found that basically nobody in my entire "click", actually has this answer...Which, bugs me.
So, I petitioned for an official answer with the literature involved.
I do know for a 100% fact that AFR was originally random...It may not be now...

Thanks for reaching out and looking into this. Maybe there's a difference in syntax, like if rendering means just producing the frames, but the frames have not yet been sent to the monitor. Maybe there's a later process to take these randomly rendered frames and order them before sending it to your monitor. Either way, it would be good learnings.

Let's talk about something simpler: Is anyone here using the latest NVidia drivers, but are still able to modify their core voltage? I have the Asus brand, do I need some type of BOIS update in order to bypass NVidia's voltage lock? I'm really bummed that I cannot clock my GTX 590 Quads beyond stock because I'm stuck at 925mV.
