Should i be worried if my GPU goes above 80?

Also do you guys have a custom fan profile that you are very happy with?
I'm out of the country (so away from my computer) so I can't tell you exactly what my fan profile is at.

Either way, I set it the fan at:
95% for 85C
90% for 80C
75% for 70C
50% for 55C
40% for 50C and lower.

I forgot what it's called in msi afterburner, but there is a setting in the fan section where you input a number which will designate when the fan will go down to a lower speed based on how low the temperature has gotten based on your applied fan percentage.

Hard to explain, but I set that part to (i believe) 8 to 10.

Wish I could be of more help biggrin.gif

Thank you for the input i will adopt it if i ever see a value above 80 from now on.

The reason i had 85 was a rookie mistake in my part.

Some thick bunch of cables were covering the place where the heat is supposed to go out from in my card. Now that i got that cable placed somewhere else, now i saw 70 degrees max in BF3 gaming in 3D. Those thick cables were covering about 40% of the thingie i am talking about.

But i already created a custom fan profile with those settings that you gave me but did not activate it yet. If i see anything above 80 i will though.

Thank you. thumb.gif

Yeah, those cables can be a nuisance. You can see how much of a nut I am with cabling in my 'Jesktop' PC... haha. I have 10 noctua fans keeping the case cool biggrin.gif

Honestly if people were not talking about the airflow inside the case i would never think of removing that cable from the end of my 590. But hey i did and a 10-15 degrees cooler is just FANTASTIC.

You got tooo many fans bro smile.gif

I only have 3 i guess in my case. 1 for the GPU. 1 in the PSU and 1 in the CPU... In other words all STOCK COOLERS smile.gif

Rushmore, did you ship my card? This seems to be the only way to contact you posting through this forum... I still haven't received it yet.

Hey guys, sorry for the trouble, but for the wired Nvidia 3D Vision glasses, will any USB to Mini / Micro USB cable work? Or do you need the official Nvidia USB cable for the glasses? biggrin.gif

Can't speak from experience, but I'd bet any cable can work. It's pretty hard to call it USB when the plugs are different from the standard tongue.gif

Well I feel late to the party.

I just got my brand new RMA'd eVGA GTX 590 Classifieds after the other ones I previously had were malfunctioning due to being permanently under-volted at .913v somehow.. mad.gif

Anyways, everything is okay now. Time for the proof! thumb.gif

ah that was not an undervolt actually. That was the original shipping voltage of the 590s.

Welcome biggrin.gif
