NVIDIA GTX 590 Owners Club - Page 339

So there would not be any need to upgrade my 590 until the 7 series if thats the case.

Unless i see a 50% increase at a single card or a dual gpu card i will not be interested in upgrading.

590 is my beast really and i love it.

I just hoped that in BF3 at ultra i should have FPS always higher than 60

in some maps i can see low 40s (like metro map in the beginnin) and to be honest that dissapoints me.

Hopefully further drivers will adress these issues.

So far I've been very impressed with the results seen from the new AMD 7970s. On top of that, they have 3GB of usable VRAM compared to our 1.5GB. I'm changing direction with my rig away from surround and would rather have a central 27/30" to game on with two 22"s as slaves.

With this in mind I'm looking at running two overclocked 7970s in Crossfire, under water.

Initial benchmarks and overclocking results are very impressive, especially considering supported voltage control hasn't reared it's head yet.

Possibly, if the GTX 780 is a good performer. I don't care which 'side' I'm on, beit AMD or NVIDIA. All I'm interested in is performance biggrin.gif

FYI the GTX 680 series are the 'M' cards for laptops. The desltop range are 7XX. However it may well beat the 7970, and if does - I'll be back!

I doubt that the 780 will beat the 590 but I imagine it would be right on it's heels.

From what the 7970s have been showing, their power will be equivalent to a 590 at high overclocks. The 680 should exceed the 590 at the least, and at the most beat it out by an inch. (with overclocking)

I think it's unlikely that the new single GPU cards will outperform the current dual GPU cards at stock, however - from what we've seen in terms of overclocking potential with the new architecture from AMD, they may well beat them! Here's hoping the 780 can take it's clocks to some high levels.

I just noticed I made a mistake... I meant that the 780(another mistake, haha) will be AT the power of 590 at the least and exceed it at the most, this should be true with high overclocking.

Thanks for clarifying SMO. Hope you stick around here on the 590 thread, it's good to have you around. thumb.gif

I'm a casual gamer, due to me being so swamped with life's obstacles. If I had it my way, I'd play my games everyday for hours and buy the best of the best hardware.

The 590 will last me at the least until end of warranty, 2014. I just have to get it out of my head that I don't have to game at the max settings with upped Anti-aliasing redface.gif . I'm hoping that when I call ASUS for an RMA in 2013/2014, they will have no choice but to give me a 7xx, haha.

I, too, am waiting for the drivers that will max the 590... can always hope for the best.

We are on the same boat

I just got married 12 months ago and my gaming time has decreased. Hopefully we can have a baby in the next 12 months which will take my gaming time even lower...

I am just lucky that wife lets me play games 1*2 hours per day at night and few hours in the weekend. biggrin.gif

So a 590 should last me a good while and at least for 2 years everything maxed... I just cant see a game beating BF3 in terms of graphics in the next 2 years...

in 2013-2014 the Maxwell cards are coming. So i can easily skip Kepler.

And yes we definitely need better drivers for few games. The latest beta patch did not mention anything about 590 in terms of SKYRIM boost though i am sure there is some.

We may be sitting next to each other on this boat... haha. I myself got married almost 2 years ago. My playing time comes when she is working, or when she is busy on her laptop tongue.gif.

Looks like we may be getting Maxwell cards together thumb.gif

I am 99% sure that this is whats going to happen.

Though although being married rocks and everything i just wish to go back in time few years back where i could game 12 hours a day if i wanted to biggrin.gif

Also i just got my wife every single season of desperate housewives and she watches 1 episode a day. Which means 40 mins more freedom of gaming biggrin.gif

So Maxwell it is.

Expect a PM from in in late 2013 thumb.gif

Haha, my wife has already finished DH.

Introduce your wife to pinterest.com, she might like it. She can find nice cooking recipes. My wife has found a few already and likes to browse there often. biggrin.gif

Hear hear. Just like I'm going to skip Ivy bridge and go for Haswell. I dislike intel's Tick processors, waste of money in my opinion. :/
