Dont get me wrond 590 is a beast in 3D

but battlefield 3 unfortunately has issues in 3Dvision.

Outside scenes are capped at 40 FPS

You can play it in ULTRA or LOW settings but outside scenes are always at 40 fps.

No issues in inside as well.

In nvidia forums it has been discussed that this is an issue with the engine.

People running 2 580s even have this issue.

Is that going to be a high end kepler?

Also how is 7970 compared to 590?

I just did some search in 3Dvision forums of Nvidia, and it seems that Battlefield 3 has an issue in 3D itself. Although it is a 3Dvision ready title it seems that engine is having issue.
I truly love the 2d performance in Battlefield 3 but even for that there should be better drivers.
However it is very very good to know that a 590 will pretty much max out any game in the next 2 years no matter what is thrown at it unless it does not support directx 11.1 features of course

Well then, no problem in our department, hehe.

I must say I play ALOT of games in 3d, never have an issue. BF3 included, i turn some settings down and it's smooth as.
*edit* i just checked and was on caspian border in 3d on medium setings and it was running @ 60fps. There were a lot of time its went into the 40's but it's definatly not capped at 40.

The 40 fps thing i believe happens only outside when there is a lot of sun.

I can play bf3 perfectly in METRO levels inside for example but outside it does take a fps hit and lingers around 40

Which drivers are you on?

Question

What type of AA do you guys prefer with your 590?

MSAA?

CSAA?

QCSAA ?

and i believe there is a new AA method FXAA

i believe not every game supports every type of AA method, if not can we enable it via Nvidia Control Panel?

Playing a lot of 3D content is specifically why I bought this card in the first place, versus settling for two 580's. But if push comes to shove, I may end up getting another one sometime down the line in hopes that that'll help fix the problem, just to be on the safe side. But, I hope that won't be the case. Playing video games in 3D is one thing, but playing feature length 3D movies is another. And I certainly hope the 590 can hold up to that...

I may have misunderstood you but watching 3D blu-ray movies can be done with any Nvidia GPU and dosent effect your watching a 3D movie.

It's 3D Vision gaming where the GPU performance comes into play.

If you haven't purchased yet the best 3D movie out right now is - Transformers Dark Side of the Moon. It's down right spectacular. Movies shot in 3D are much better than movies converted from 2D to 3D. smile.gif

Masked/Rushmore:

I know that you may not be allowed to tell anything about the Kepler cards you witnessed but let me ask you the straight question:
Do you think it is convenient to sell the GTX 590s now to get the new ones? I have two GTX 590s watercooled
Please let me know and thanks for everything
