Uh oh, stepping up to a 590!? Thats a nice upgrade man thumb.gif You thinking of buying the EVGA version with the block already installed? Or gonna go with a reference design and put your own block on? Oh and you think it will it fit in your RV02 too with the RX360 down there?

haha, Thanks bro, but im shopping around. Definitely a EVGA version, but will take the Asus version. I'll more than likely get the one with a reference cooler then get a water-block later down the road. I don't think it'll fit with my RX, so i'll have to switch it out with a EX 360 rad....or a 540 rad!

Guys I have a Zotac version of this card

What does installing a block do exactly?

It is to do with only water cooling i suppose?

590 Pimps -

Forgive me if this has been covered, I tried searching RagingCain's Bios thread and the last dozen pages but can't find the info I thought I may have read on here from Masked or Rush,

But in trying to pin down why my rig is still getting crashes to desktops with SWTOR seemingly with no matter what driver I try, I noticed that my voltage is 0.875 on GPU 0 and 0.913 on GPU 1.

My bios are registering as the same in Cain's bios thread under the following:

EVGA - Stock HydroCopper BIOS (Patched):
Version: 70.10.37.00.92 (GPU0) / 70.10.37.00.93 (GPU1)
630 Core / 1260 Shader / 864 Mem
GPU0 - 0.925v / GPU1 - 0.925v
Max Voltage = 1.063v

But I'm running those bios on the AC 590 Classified LE's...

TBH, I don't remembering flashing Cain's modified bios (but I am drawing a blank) and if not, then these are the bios from EVGA to unlock the fan profile I assume because that's the only flashing I did that I remember.

But if that's the case, shouldn't my voltage at least be running at 0.925? Or did I read on here somewhere that the newer drivers locked the voltage back down to 0.913? That's what I'm unsure of, and confused about.

And is this my problem with SWTOR crashes to desktop? Because that seems to be the only issue I'm having, every other game runs full blast flawless.

The only other tricks that seem to help SWTOR is running it in WinXp compatability mode, or disabling SLI. Employing both did reduce the crashes, but it still occurs.

Another interesting thing the game does that I don't understand is, when playing SLI and 4 GPU's going, the space missions fps don't go above 70fps. If I disable SLI I get 111-120fps constant.

The only other potential issue with my system is my X58 mobo has a dead dimm slot, so I've only been running 8gb's of ram and just haven't felt like tearing my rig apart to RMA it, until ideally, Ivy comes out and I do an upgrade and then slap my X58 into a backup build once it got fixed.

But maybe that's causing my issues? I really have no idea as most of my knowledge comes from enthusiast hardware and rig assembling and I really don't know jack about programming.

Still love my cards, though. The only thing that is making me consider Kepler is if they come out with 3D 120hz IPS displays that can do 2560x1600, and the 590 1.5gb vram limit having an issue running games full blast at those resolutions. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with what I have and playing 120hz 1080p

(Though I still haven't forgotten what Cain said months ago about how good movies can look at that res. That alone, has me considering picking up a standard 2560x1600 display, but just not really expect to use it as a gaming display and keep my current BenQ for that.)

Thanks to all for taking the time to read this and any help offered.

ETA: Forgot to say, I've also been using the latest version of driver sweeper while in safe mode in between driver switching, while also using Phyxion's reg cleaning program, so I think (hope) my registry should be cool.

Cheers!

Same here. On my 1st card, core 2 runs at a lower voltage than core 1, and both cores of my 2nd card. I'm getting random crashes and hard freezes while playing RAGE, and no problems at all with Hard Reset or Quake 4, except for the same voltage difference in core 2 of the 1st card. Using stock gpu BIOS and ForceWare 285.62.

Core 1 = 0.9380V.

Core 2 = 0.8750V.

Core 3 = 0.9380V. (PhysX enabled)

Core 4 = 0.9380V.

http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/win7-winvista-64bit-295.73-whql-driver-uk.html

out in UK

They did not update all the regions it seems.

Also they just poped out in Guru3d.com as well but they named the file wrong. It has to be 295.73 and they ahve it as 295.53 but the file is actually 295.73

http://www.guru3d.com/news/geforce-forceware-29553-64bit-whql-download/

this is the link, though I am sure this will be edited once they realize their mistakes.
