I am having a major issue with my 590

bye bye card?

I will try to reinstall the drivers now with a clean install.

This only happens when a game is launched.

Never on desktop, never when watching videos etc...

EDIT 1 : I turned of the PC, unplugged it, took the card out, blew all over for dust, put it on and now I dont have this issue.

However i do not feel so confident. If there was a problem with the GPU and its socket (like dust or whatever, wouldnt i have to get these artifacts even on desktop? I only got these artifacts when launching a game or running a benchmark.)

I do not believe I solved the issue now but my card is probably having some faults and I am afraid that it might come back to haunting me.

What do you guys think?

I was having similar problems but with BF 3. I did the same you did and the problem was fixed. Only god knows what happened...

Strange enough for me this problem happend first when playing BF3
i turned the PC off and launched BF3 again and the problem occured once more.

I decided to launch 3Dmark11 and the problem occured with 3Dmark11 as well.
I did not try any other games and immideately turned off the PC again and did the procedure.

It DOES seem that ony God might know what happened.

I dont have the issue now what so ever. Though it is too early to talk.

Dust can create that issue -- So can a lot of things.

I'd call that a fluke because no outside issue actually occurred.

Eh, it happens.

Eh, it happens.

Thats what I will do now.

I had few random freezes today and last night with my PC. Perhaps this was a sign. If the problem occures again i will be sending the card to be repaired or replaced..

Also remember my issues with GPU usage fluctuation. Maybe they were all related to this, though again maybe not.

Anyway. I am so glad that the problem is gone now though i am keeping a close eye to it.

Freezes are a tricky thing to diagnose...For example, my PC freezes about 2/3 times a week and emits a very loud BUZZZZZzzzzRRRZZRRZZZZ through my speakers...Doesn't BSOD, just sits there.

I happen to know it's my Creative crap audio card causing the error but, in your case, it may very well be, the card.

Always check twice before making a decision -- Saves a tremendous amount of time and effort.

Thanks for the tip bro.

I know that sometimes random components can make your PC crash. Funny though when I had a PC bfore i switched back to PS3, a creative soundcard i had also made my system crash frequently. biggrin.gif

Though I am happy with my creative xfi titanium now. Unless there is something much better than it in gaming i will probably stick with it.

Yeah, I just suck it up.

I know for a fact it's the card-based audio conflicting with the video-card's audio but, at this point it's a question of...Do I want better sound or would I rather have my video card do it and suck performance?

It's not a big deal really.

In your situation, that's definitely dust...It happens but, remember that dust can also cause issues so, this could very well be a foreshadowing of a real issue.

Just keep an eye on it and if more artifacting occurs, especially when not gaming, it's time to RMA that sucker.

True that bro.

funny thing is i was thinking of cleaning inside my PC this weekend, well i atleast I blew over the GPU and the MOBO socket so i am 20% done biggrin.gif

The next sign of artifacting, i will send the GPU to the place I bought. Hopefully they can send me a new one if they have 590 in stock. but still i would rather have no more issues and stick with this GPU as i know it will be at least a week for the new GPU to arrive if i ever send it mad.gif

EDIT ; I also emailed Zotac too. To their European branch. I attached the youtube video and waiting for a response from them too.

Yeah dust can be a major issue. I remember with my old pc it used to BSOD randomly until I did a good clean, then the bsods went away.

I'll let you in on a secret, buy fan filters. Living in a house with A LOT of dust I used to have to clean my old pc out every month or two. My new case came with filters for all my intake fans and now I clean my pc about twice, three times a year and that’s only really the filters. Inside is still good to go.
